Post by: Dominik Sobacki on March 22, 2009, 08:29:07 PM
hello,
i can't install stunt because of missing the file: hyberfil.sys.
the information i get, is: "ERROR: A:HYBERFIL.SYS - file could not by opened."
i looked inside my path and there isn't such a file.
i use dosbox 0.72
and stunts version 1.1

would be thankfull

First of all, welcome Dominik! I had never heard of this particular file... googling indicates hyberfil.sys is the file Windows uses when the computer is put into hibernation (that is, copy RAM to the HD and then put the computer in standby). It's very odd something like that could be interfering with Stunts - maybe it would help to know whether error message comes from DOSBox or Windows. Anyway, if you do not use hibernation, maybe turning it off (in XP: Control Panel -> Power Oprions -> Hibernate; probably it's something analogous for Vista) and rebooting might solve it.

it comes from dosbox.
i have winxp sp3.
the message comes just after it starts copying the files to the directory (after about two copied files).
i'll try the hypernation-thing.

to shut-off the hybernate-option was a good idea.
now it goes on with copying the files.
the thing now is that it stops copying with the file 'pagefile.sys' and doesn't even react when i push 'escape' (this option is written down under to 'determinate' the copy-process).

I just realized another question needs to be asked - are you trying to install the game running setup.exe under DOSBox? If you are, there is no need to - just mount the Stunts folder as it is and run the game, in all likelihood it will work.
