Title: The End / The New Wave / Jacky
Post by: BonzaiJoe on May 08, 2012, 08:21:48 PM
Hey guys!

JTK is not the only Stunts driver who has a band. My band has just finished our first 4 demos. You can check it out and download it here:

I play keyboards on all songs, and I sing on three them, which I also wrote. Feel free to share the songs with anyone you like.

Good luck with your band! :) It's not my cup of tea but I'll give it a second listening. With your talent in writing, these repeating lines come disturbing to me. So far, the fourth song (jaques) is the best for me.

Cool! I'll listen to it later, but I'm sure it will be good stuff  8)

Love it!!!!

Cathy tunes, and yet deep content with good lyrics.
lots of 80s influence but still contemporary and there is some power shining through the songs which I very much lack from many similar artists.

Religious Girl could be an instant hit.
Btw. still love your early work such as Blessed To be Near You  :D

Queer! Strange! Like it. "Modern Chinese Literatur" made me smile...  :)
The music reminds me of some 80s stuff.

Erm... okay. That was suprising.

I liked it. Not really my kind of music but surprisingly enough, I liked it. I'll listen to it again tonight in a more relaxed situation (on the bus was probably not the best way) to have a second opinion (of myself)

Next time you should add "Chili beans song" or at least a tune from that. :D

But that was already done by Velvet Underground...

Thanks all for listening, and for your reactions. We hardly have any idea who or what this appeals to or why, so it's very interesting. Live videos will be uploaded to YouTube soon also :-)

At last I got to stop and listen, and it is very good indeed! Sweet, but haunting; all in the right proportions.

"And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make."

One of the most beautiful lines from The Beatles "The End". And one of my all time touching songs thought extremely short:

I'm very active with The New Wave at the moment. Next Saturday we'll play our 5th gig this summer, and I've just finished and recorded a new batch of songs which I've made into an album, which you can be the first to listen to before we play them live.
They are quite high quality demo recordings but of course not to be confused with studio recordings.

Listened. Good album, good topics and the composition is more versatile compared to earlier.

My favorites: 192, Iceland, Library of Love, Because There's Silence.

Note the track numbers for these songs are: 2,5,7,12.
2+5=7
5+7=12
certainly not a coincidence!   ;D

Of course not - I put them in that order for you  ;)

This is the first appreciation I get for Because There's Silence. That's nice :-)
Let me know if you listen again and your evaluation changes.

The sounds remembered a little of OMD and the most synthpop tunes from Pulp and a bit of Cocteau Twins accent.
