Title: Cars and rules for 2016
Post by: zaqrack on December 09, 2015, 12:29:14 PM
Starting this thread a bit later than usual, so quick feedback is welcome.

Cars:
Xylocaine and Speedgate out for sure. Prefer to keep the Melange and the F40, unsure about the Porsche 911
Which ones should be the replacement cars? I would opt for a best-of from the past years, including only cars with proven realistic and bug-free behavior.

Rules:

I did not plan any rule changes. The 14-days public replay rule seems to be a success and needs no adjustment. However, I am open for any recommendations.

Schedule:
one month or 4 weeks intervals?

To elaborate more on cars, my view is as folows:

Proven to be working, welcome anytime:
Nissan skyline
Lotus esprit turbo
Ferrari f40
Melange

Unsure:
Mclaren F1 - there seems to be a generic dislike for this car
lwt zr1 gt3 - not custom enough
porsche 911 turbo - not custom enough

Tested as a competition car, not to be considered:
Speedgate
Ford ranger
Superkart
Xylocaine xf

Untested:
toyota corolla / sprinter - likely both too slow to be considered as a proper competition car
ikarus 260 - definitely too slow to be considered

Keep Melange

Enter Skyline and make some tests with Corolla.

I liked Ranger to do a double with LM

My take on cars is similar to Zak's: Speedgate and Xylocaine out, Melange and F40 kept, on the fence about 911 Turbo -- I would kind of like to see it being given a chance, but I haven't tried it enough to have a clear idea of whether it is an interesting car to drive. No settled opinion on cars to be brought back either. As for the other issues, I like the predictability of the 4-week schedule.

Thanks to Leo for reminding me about the deadlines. Hope next season's rounds will be aligned with the Gregorian calendar again. :D

That is a valid point of view as well, though -- it sounds not unlike the trouble I had in keeping track of LOL Classics deadlines.

Another issue worth settling IMO is that of tiebreakers. Following Zak, I suggest resolving draws through the number of victories (and then of second places  etc.).

Nissan skyline
Lotus esprit turbo
Ferrari f40
Melange

This list seems ok to me.

Happy new year! This year I'll finally win the competition (?) hahaha

All tracks released on schedule, 12 pipsqueaks per track, at least 8 pipsqueaks active throughout the entire season and a battle similar to 2015.
