It will be a very straightforward semi-powergear track, probably with low time differences.

A bit better with auto gears (1:17.85).

The overpass on the top of the hill is quite pleasant aesthetically. Opening with a 1:15.30 on this not so straightforward track.

1:59.05 - First blind try. I'm awful with the GTO, so I don't know how much better I can get it, ha, ha. The track is great, though!

1:02.65. Note this is an unstable replay: a section of it only plays correctly at double speed. While I guess that won't be a problem, I'll try to come up with something else just in case.

It's okay. One of the best Indy replays suffered from the same problem (Alain, Eger, USC 2003).

Actually, your replay is a f*ckin' cool one.

Yesterday I worried about mine, since at the very end the car seems to intersect with the outer side of the tunnel, but it does play correctly even at normal speed...

1:34.45 and this cost me quite some time!  I seriously doubt I can do any better on this track with this car. Really hard work!

I learnt something about the GTO in this race, but I'm not sure if I now like it more... or less :o

Somehow I think you are talking about the unique powergear handling.
One of my weakest cars, only the Countach is worse...

Yes. It seems that Alan and Daniel both forgot about the deadline. :(

Official update is expected in the early afternoon (no computer access at the moment, only phone).

Quote from: USL rules
Leaving out a single race is allowed, but then the actual opponent wins automatically. Time difference will be modified by (average of the round - own result) seconds for the winner, (opponent's result - worst result of the round - 2) seconds for the "renitent". Leaving out more than one race means automatical disqualification, all the results played with that pipsqueak will be deleted.

So, it happened again after the previous seasons: the scoreboard is not full... :( Daniel3D and Alan Rotoi missed the 5th round, therefore Duplode and afullo won their duels. Rules will be modified for the next season to avoid any later scorebord adjustment.

Average (normalized) time of the round: 1:20.75

Results:

KyLiE   1:14:45 (1:17.69)- 1:21.85 (1:25.41) dreadnaut
Cas1:34.45 (1:38.56)- 1:14.00 (1:17.22)CTG
Duplode   57.50 (1:00.00)- DNF (1:40.56)Daniel3D
afullo1:22.05 (1:25.62)- DNF (1:40.56) Alan Rotoi

Winner of the round: Duplode, with an amazing powergear lap :o
Best loser: dreadnaut

What? You said it was postponed! The deadline was crossed out and the text "postponed" beside ???

That was in topic round 6, due to afullo's temporary technical problems.
What a bad misunderstanding... :(

Any suggestions how to fix it?

Maybe, if the beginning of another race has to be postponed, we could highlight clearly that this would not apply to the deadline of the race which is the current one at the moment...

I didn't forget.. i just could not make it..
not much free time at the moment.  :-\
Missed the zakstunts race of last month as well because I gave priority to this one (shorter laps).

When I saw it "postponed one or two days" that was the official announce, so I relaxed.

If it was a chain of misundertanding or communication problems it's ok. Let it just happen. I just regret because this episode kicked me out from the fight for the 1st place. Now I know I can't even fight it. Out from the fight not because our performance but for this. I won't ask any fix about it.

I'm ok with calculating his average time for this round, so alanrotoi still has a fighting chance.

(not for me though, it was time management, not a misunderstanding in my case)
It's easy for me to say, because it doesn't affect me. The person most affected I guess is afullo.

I'm a part involved, but as far as I know, we usually considered invalid replays received after the deadline, regardless of the motivation. Unfortunately it could happen, there have been military interventions which resulted in failure because of wrong timing due to timezone misunderstanding...

I won't ask any fix. It would be unfair for you. What if I make a faster lap? Every point I would take will be from yours. I won't do that. This matter goes unfair for me and I won't extend the unfair situation to you.
Title: Re: USL 2021 - Track 5 - J
Post by: Cas on April 07, 2021, 05:58:24 AM
I want to say I understand Alan Rotoi's feeling. It's exactly that: there is no fair choice right now anymore. It is probably a little fairer this way because it doesn't extend to everybody else, but that doesn't mean it's totally fair. Yet, I also understand there was a misunderstanding without any bad intention from anybody.

Alan was also a victim of a mistake I made in the early times of R4K. The site was unfinished and I had to reject a replay of his. At that moment, to reject a replay, I had to delete it and it wasn't possible to download it and watch it again anymore. So I published it instead to allow for his verification (even though he surely must have had his own copy). These things will happen from time to time and they are unfair. Still, we don't mean that unfairness. We just continue and try to do it better next time.
