Post by: alanrotoi on January 29, 2023, 11:50:42 AM
Just wow!! What a nice improvement of the main page! The dates specification and every stage of the race. Also the map of the track and all the info. I love it! And of course the car podiums! +10 for you dreadnaut and thank you!!

Thank you both! Still work in progress, might break towards the end of the race ::)

Getting the dial to look how I wanted it was an interesting challenge! It now includes a tiny activity chart too, showing how many replays were sent on each day.

That's a nice touch.  Well done!

Minor addition: each car on the car coefficients page (https://zak.stunts.hu/cars/2023) now links to the corresponding wiki page.

Thanks to @Friker for the suggestion!

Thank you very much for a very quick implementation. :) Actually, the information I was looking for on Wiki was how new cars behave at power gear speeds (https://wiki.stunts.hu/wiki/Power_gear_bug). To my surprise information about the category (one of Bug-free, Flexible PG, Rigid PG, Regular, Anti-PG) is not at the car's summary. I suppose I can add this information to Wiki by myself (if anyone else would do that I wouldn't mind) but - is there that information for new cars?

You can find most information in carworks.
That calculates the kind of PG is it has it
Ryoma made a beautiful Excel macro that calculates horse power and top speed.
But you need the full paid windows version of Excel to use it..

You are welcome! I'm on holiday and I just came down with a fever, so... 🤷

✨ Accessibility:
- Drop-down menus require a click to open, but should now work on mobile as well

⭐ New page!
- Have a look at the new, sortable pipsqueak list (https://zak.stunts.hu/pipsqueaks).

That's the full list of pipsqueaks who have submitted a replay, so it probably includes one-off accounts we might want to hide. I don't have a good test for that at the moment, suggestions and feedback welcome!

edit: ok it's about the old records merge 8)  ;D

Charts? I like charts! - https://zak.stunts.hu/index.php?page=quarterly-stats

Not sure if they are all interesting though.

New feature proposal - mark invalid replays as invalid and do not delete them. :)
New feature proposal - have a list of your own replays (maybe only for current race is enough) and have an ability to mark them as invalid (in case of uploading incomplete replay).
Wishful thinking - Q symbol in a yellow circle looks like Qualified mark in sports competition (track and field). Make it.. less evocative of that. Although I do not have any specific proposal what is less evocative.

Excluding replays for calculations is on the list of things to do. Unfortunately it requires a number of other changes to be possible, so it might take a while.

I thought about variations on a "Delete" button for your own replays, on the All Results list, but I am worried it would open the door to "I'm going to upload some rubbish for a laugh, then I can delete it". Current workaround: you can ask for a replay to be deleted.

If you hover markers you will see a tooltip that explains what they mean. I think any icon would be too small at that size, and anyway not more informative than a 'Q'.

I remember that R4K originally did not have the ability to store superseded replays. They had to be deleted. When I finally wanted to add the feature, it took me some time to because lots of things were working around the way things were at that time and I had to rewrite a significant part of the scoreboard calculation. Also, the scoreboard file for the running race already had the previous format so I had to manually edit it to accommodate the changes and I had to change the format in a way that was compatible with all previous races, to avoid having to edit all of them. So I very well understand it takes time. It can also be a source of bugs if you doesn't take that time.

I was thinking in general about how deleting a replay (manually) would mess with Leading Time Bonus. I guess there is already some recomputing of leading time, isn't it?
Title: Re: New features 2023

All numbers are re-calculated automatically during the race, and can be refreshed manually after it closes. Removing a replay would immediately affect both the scoreboard and the LTB calculations.

Maybe bug - Countdown needle on the frontpage:
Maybe change <svg viewBox="-100 -80 200 130"> to <svg viewBox="-100 -80 200 132"> so that "May" at the bottom does not look like "Mav"?

Thank you for your quick fix. :)
This one is a bit more annoying. Car coefficients in track page have fixed max-width. When track's author bonus/penalty is added and the bonus bar is overfloating then the bar is misaligned (as in this month's track).
See attachment.

Post by: Cas on May 10, 2023, 12:23:58 AM
Interesting. Could the width of the bars be made proportional to the highest absolute bonus at the time to solve this?
Title: Re: New features 2023
Post by: dreadnaut on May 21, 2023, 12:12:17 PM
They are proportionate, but I need to account for negative track bonus which make the bars wider than the actual bonus amount. Patched it rapidly for this race, I'll fix it one day ;D

what about adding the current number of sent replays in the track form? The code is already there in the sent replay analysis ;) Take advantage of this is a season with so many replays.
