Title: Oran Park
Post by: Krys TOFF on November 17, 2003, 02:25:20 PM
After 8 races on north-american "IMSA Le Mans" series tracks, the IMSA Cup pipsqueaks sail along the Pacific Ocean to reach Australia.

The 1st Australian track is Oran Park, opponent is Otto. Happy racing. 8)

Well, it's easier then Road Atlanta... ways easier. But: in spite of the easy race it's really hard to improve on it. There's only 2 sec difference between my first lap and the current one. Anyway, it's a well-done track, nice work by Krys (again)!  :)

When I finished all tracks for the 2nd IMSA Cup, I choosed this one for the Groups league because it was the one I had less time difference between my lap with P962 and the one with Jaguar XRJ9.
The goal is to have a "war for milliseconds" if possible.

Argh! I did a great replay and forgot to drive with Otto. Is there any point with that rule except making IMSA cup a little more different from other competitions?

You don't drive with the correct car on USC, you forget the opponent in IMSA Cup, ... I think you are really in love to be so easily distracted.
About opponent rule, yes, it's for IMSA Cup to be different, and it's for people don't use RH too much because when opponent can finish the track, it's quickly boring to use RH.

Krys you are right... sometimes I have no motivation to rewind my rpl after crashing because of opponent. Why don't they crash?

Don't wory akoss, as long as tracks will go more difficult, opponents will crash more easily.
And you can always make them crash at the beginning if you want, but you'll loose a few seconds.
Really, the short period on each track (one week) and the opponent is to limit the use of RH, and to avoid big gap between "maximalist" drivers and the others.
But some pipsqueaks are definitively too good to be handicaped by these rules, look at your time and the one of Alan compared to mine and XSCrapy's.

They will play against group winners in the quarter finals. They don't lose the chance for winning the cup.
There will be only 2 leavers at this stage, but the following order will be determined. Runners-up from group 1 and 2 can't be relegated because they drove a better time in qualifications than the group 3 (possible) runners-up.

Great news! It means at least 2 "4dsLeans" will be in next step (because I'll try to be there too).
Title: Explanations
Post by: Krys TOFF on November 20, 2003, 01:33:16 PM
Just for those who didn't followed my mind :
I put pipsqueaks who were qualified 9th and 10th in groups 3 and 4 because they are "theorically" the weakest, and so they are supposed to have the best chances to hope to be qualified.
I did exactly the same thing on 1st Cup for pipsqueaks qualified 13th and 14th.
