Which version do you use?

I've been testing the latest version for quite some time now, and while it works great for the most part, I've been experiencing occasional random crashes, whereas previous versions never did.  Today I discovered a way to repeatedly replicate a crash, so I thought I'd report it.  Here is the procedure:

• Start the game with the graphic level set to "FULL".
• Go to the car selection menu.  The Countach should be selected by default.
• Continuously cycle through the different colours.

After about 15 seconds, the game will crash.  I've experienced in-game crashes as well, but I haven't figured out a way to repeatedly replicate those.

This is unfortunate to hear.  I was under the impression that this kind of thing was checked automatically, but perhaps that only applies to replays that are cloned in their entirety.  @dreadnaut or @Duplode, can you confirm if that's the case?

@Spoonboy and @stanceboyCZ, can you please confirm who will be designing the track for the November race?

As I mentioned in the message room, this is the same replay that you posted on 5/9/2025, which is invalid because you skipped the first corkscrew.  I hope you can post a valid OWOOT replay before the deadline.  If you're having trouble interpreting the rules, please let us know.

Nice work pulling that off!  I just tested it and it works as intended.  As for the mysterious 6th graphics mode: Good one!

With the DOSBox keyboard commands you can increase or decrease cycles, but you cannot set the dynamic core which is key for top performance.

I meant entering "core=dynamic" at the command prompt.

My experience is the same.  Using the DOSBox settings that you recommend, I didn't notice any slowdown on ZCT288.  I tested this on an Intel Core i7 6700HQ and an i5 10300H.  What's your idea regarding the CPU configuration?  I know that you can change it in DOSBox using commands.  Is that it?

I really appreciate your work on this!  I just tested it and I didn't notice any issues, but you're right, the performance is significantly worse for the same amount of CPU cycles.  A prime example of this is that there is noticeable slowdown on ZCT288 at even 250000 cycles.  Still, removing the bounds on the camera zoom is a great addition!

@KyLiE is the only pipsqueak that could help us with hints on what you want to know, he is the only one who saw how to do it, and drove for a ZCT289 podium.

As far as I'm aware, I was the first person in our team to attempt a power gear lap with the Corvette.

I'd love to know how much total time you invested @KyLiE once you had the informations needed to imitate the PG lap.

It was a team effort.  If you really must know, I spent 6.5 hours trying to pull off a power gear lap with the Corvette.  That doesn't include the time I spent driving other cars.  You seem to be insinuating that I blatantly copied @Argammon with little to no effort, but if you compare our replays, you'll realise that we both have quite different approaches to reaching power gear.

I am also not super happy of having wasted time to find a rules-sanctioned way to negotiate the slalom, just to see said rule changed two days after.

The slalom was a ticking time bomb at Race For Kicks that unfortunately went off during that race.  The rules were changed to make sure that it didn't happen again and to make it fair for the majority of the race.  We did the best that we could in that situation.  We like to make the competition as inviting as possible for newcomers, so rest assured, the rules won't be changing again anytime soon.
