Competition 2025 / Re: Semi-Retirement Announcement
September 27, 2025, 04:32:13 PM
Sad to hear you'll be retiring @Argammon . But I have to say you are one of the drivers that keep me motivated to better myself. Your replays are always an inspiration. Especially the PG ones (which are way out of my league).

I have to agree with you that the conversation this season are a little bit toxic to say the least. Hopefully we can resolve this because I can imagine it can scare of new drivers. And it definitely stopped me from interacting more on the forum and/or shout box.

But for now we still have three races to enjoy your participation and replays in ZackStunts!

@HerrNove, in that case. I'll be extra rooting for your first podium finish  ;) !

Quick question(s) guys. I've gotten on a working spree for my ZCT293 and it seems that, besides some decoration, it is as good as ready.

Since this is my first ZakStunts track (and honestly the first lap I've made in around twenty-five years) I'm not exactly sure it will meet expectations. I've tried to follow the "guide lines" proposed in the "Track design for ZakStunts" thread as much as possible but I'm still not convinced it is on parr with the rest of this years tracks.

Is it possible I can send it in early for a review so I can have some feedback (if necessary) on if it's to easy or to difficult? Or that it's even within the unwritten rules of track design?

@alanrotoi This could be a great venue for a Death Race, Twisted Metal like story. Imagine Bernie Rubber being the villain who plays dumb, not to reveal he secretly is the evil mastermind responsible for the demise of the world and the situation where the rest of the drivers are in   ;) !

General Chat - ZSC / The Apogee FAQ
August 15, 2025, 01:21:14 PM
Don't know if anyone is interested, but I found this old website (last updated September 2005) containing a FAQ about Apogee.

It features a lot of in-depth information about the company, the employees and the games they made. It might be a bit too extensive to read in total but for DOS gaming fanatics like us it's really cool to spend some time on it.

Great initiative. Due to time restraints I don't think I won't be able to participate much, but in honor of the (re)launch of the competition I've decided to upload a laptime anyway.

As you can see I'm by far not the best Owoot or No Replay handeling driver but it was al lot of fun driving this track!

2. Looping Warriors: @CTG, @Usrin, @Akoss Poo a.k.a. Zorromeister

3. Rolling Stunts: @afullo, @Cas, @KyLiE, @Argammon

4. Double Plusspeed: @Erik Barros, @MiDiaN, @alanrotoi, @Frieshansen

Couldn't find anything about this racing game on the forum (besides one post from 2002) so here it goes.

Anyone familiar with the 1999 racing game Re-volt? It was (together with Stunts and Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit) the racing game I probably played most as a kid.

It's a cool arcade pipsqueak in which you have to drive radio controlled cars through different kinds of environments like supermarkets, museums and a western town. It also features a variety of power-ups like bowling balls, fireworks and oil to make your opponents lives as miserable as possible.

For a game from 1999 it has aged surprisingly well so if you haven't played it yet I can highly recommend it. Search for Re-volt I/O and you'll find what you are looking for  ;) .

For the rest I'll the the guy from Lazy Game Review do the talking (in a 13 year old video that is):

@alanrotoi, especially for you I asked Gemini to make a photo of Alain Rotoi from Zakstunts. Luckily it doesn't give away any of the answers so I can post it here.

You can decide for yourself if you consider this a compliment  ;) !

Ps. And again no dogshead.
