Something that Krys may find interesting: Trackmania Nations Forever runs virtually perfectly on Linux under Wine 1.1.9 with only a few simple tweaks. For anyone interested, the tweaks are explained here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=14851&iTestingId=35105 . Screenshot evidence is attached below...
This means I'll resume playing TMNF often... :) ;)

Arguably the most confused scoreboard in a long while finally can be published in its final version...

1º Mark L. Rivers - 2:24.05 - +10
2º Krys TOFF - 2:28.85 - +8
3º Felipe NEMESIS - 2:30.90 - +6
4º Daniel DUPLODE - 2:22.95 - +5

Shortly after the original result publishing (and of my excited comments here and on the JACStunts forum), Mark sent his 2:24 as per Igor's request on JAC's forum (not due to any IRCness issues, but rather on a 48-hour tolerance triggered due to .RPL / .HIG mismatch). Igor watched it yesterday, and the lap was declared valid on the same basis as Krys' one. Sorry Krys... :-\ And naturally, had CTG sent his late replay he would be 4th and me 5th, but oh well.

Next round is already on, of course - T406/Andhra is a Vette track penned by this pipsqueak speaking to you. Igor re-set the deadline to 07/01 noon, a Wednesday - it could be a calendar error (07/01/08 was a Monday...) but on the other hand two extra days in this holiday period might be useful - I have not asked him... anyway, keep racing, and let's see if Mark will pull off a perfect season or not  ;)

So, in the end we have the USL roster, only exchanging Chulk ( :-\ ... :() by Mark... I'd have loved to see Brian in the final round too, but of course AbuRaf's final sprint comes as a pleasant surprise as well  :) Ten days to the showdown now - I'm extremely curious about the car selection, and what effects they'll have on the racing action... ::)

Thank you all! It's very nice to win again in free-RH here in USC, especially near exactly one year after Siófok...  :)
But we should be talking about Brian and Dstien too: there were some really nice solutions in their replays, and with a faster corner exit at that left-hander after the tunnel (the sort of skill that easily comes with experience or, in Brian's case, manual gear practice) they would be fighting for the 5th place... congratulations for their improvement too! :)

Here are the shots of the new cars for use in Zak'09 or elsewhere, Zak. The images are in the correct 3.8 : 1 proportion used on the Car Bonus table already. There are shots with each car default colours (if you want to keep current patterns), but also with alternatives (black might not look too good downscaled and on a dark green background, and I think we have enough dark blue cars on the table already  :))

Nice! I'll try to arrange a proper pic later on  ;)
A few small things:
1. Are birth days still limited to 01-01-1950? (For instance, AbuRaf's profile...)
2. Unrelated to the new site: Replay sending stats from 2007 and back are not visible - the page says "Can't select table!Unknown column 'quiet' in 'where clause'" when you pick a track.
3. In case you do not have pics for the new cars on the bonuses page, I'll be glad to prepare them and post here.

So here you have the proposed revision 1.6. While there were some rather large changes in some parts of the .RES during the adjustments, generally I tried to preserve the overall feel/concept of the car as laid out on the previous implementations. Performance-wise, acceleration was given a check - below 110mph, it can provide NSX a good challenge on a drag race; beyond that, it is closer to Audi or Lancia. Flat-track top speed is 144mph, and there is little margin for extra gains by jumping: overall top speed is a mere 162mph. As for handling, both grip and braking efficiency were strongly reduced from their IMSA-like values for competition balance concerns; yet they are still are a lot above the levels of other slow cars, thus preserving cody's design decision to some extent (the car can take dirt and ice corners with nice confidence, but not overly easily). Now I will send a personal message to cody explaining the changes in detail so he can evaluate properly the results and confirm any decision taken by Zak...

I would suggest taking this one with Countach and push as hard as possible for an useful driving exercise  ;) Nice design! Sometimes I do think we should promote exchange of non-championship/just-for-fun tracks and designs (track exchange is one of the things newbies - myself included, back then - would expect to find here...). And welcome Nerd42!  :)

And mine too  ;) Ideally one would have two kinds of CPs, one that would be crossed only from a single direction (for regular tracks) and another that could be crossed by both directions (for off-road racing a la Z77, but if that's too hard just one kind could do fine. And of course, the possibility to have no CPs too...

Then you would have to spend your turbo before it blasts by itself  :) But in fact I'm forced to agree with you in that it could be a problem, and is quite superfluous unnecessary. It would be fine if the nitro just: a) had a max limit and b) waned slowly after being accumulated, so the player wouldn't be able to just hold it forever.
