Competition 2002 / To return to the subject
November 04, 2002, 05:23:12 PM
I found the trick when I saw Alain's 1.34.00. I knew that the only way to save much time had to be by avoiding the corkscrew, so I tried, and quickly found out how...
By the way Ben, don't remember ZCT8? You drove through a bridge on that one.

ISA-IRC: Replay Handling / Guess

I still don't understand that attitude. Don't you understand why we get a bit perplexed? Sure it's possible to go 1.12 in Buenos Aires, but without replay handling? I wouldn't have thought so before the competition. Seriously, would you have guessed that it was even possible to go under 1.15 without replay handling? Anyway, as I have said at least a thousand times before, I find it difficult NOT to believe. Now I'm just looking forward to the RH competition.

Well I think 1.45.70 is quite a nice time... and I who thought I was going to take the lead. But at least I know that there's some kind of shortcut now... or that I am taking the wrong way...

Well, look at it Roy... What good is a 1st place anyway? It's just a silly computer game after all, who cares if you win or not.... Computer games are not important - love is important. Love is life. Choose life.

  :D  :D    8)

Firstly, I think I am wrong, and that you can use cheat cars in 1.1 as well. Secondly: A few objections to the rules:
1. No shortcuts: why not?
2. Do not show your replay etc.... that's what teams are for.

I hope for one of these two things:
1. Short, extremely hard, dense Indy-track
2. Real power gear track, lots of jumping and banked corners - power gear from start to end if you're really cool!

What I am saying is: You wouldn't have gotten those points even if I had let you lead with the 1.31.80. But I hadn't realised that...

Permanent Competition / Stuntsia

Fdzierva was not as good as any of the four drivers I mentioned, I am not as good as Fdzierva, and Inavoeg was not as good as me. He won a lot in 1999, but the competition wasn't nearly half as strong back then as it is in 2002 and was in Kalpen 2001.

Track Design Contest 2002 / GTO
October 30, 2002, 08:17:06 PM
This track would be a sure winner if the competition was "most annoying track". It's extremely confusing and much too long, which gives it an awful competition compatibility. Apart from that, it's boring, and even more boring with the GTO than with the Indy. It get's a 1, but it would be good as a joke...

That's right, but I was sure of that already before I sent my replay - I just didn't know :)

Neil: There was a competition that tried to allow cheat cars, until they found out that no one joined because having cheat cars in a competition is completely pointless. It means you have to spend half of your time designing a car, backing up one of your other cars, playing on 1.0 etc. and everyone wants to play Stunts :) But I'll join your competition if cheat cars aren't allowed. Right now we don't have any regular Indy competition like the one at "www.kalpen.de" and I think we need one...

Why not? There is no data at all in the rpl file that shows whether a break has been done? Oh I see... But it was a nice thought :D
