According to our timezone difference, 21H in South America means already 20th of June in France. :D :P

Yes, I know. But that doesn't mean the match will be played the 20th as it is played in Venezuela.

Sure, but info I got was on French sports website, so they put French time. ;)
I realized that it meant 19th in local time only after your post. ;D

8th round update. Uruguay with a small advantage for 5th spot on Colombia and Ecuador, but everything is close (If they had won, they would be 2nd) in one of the closest qualifiers in years! Brazil played awfully again (after a good victory against Chile) and got a draw against the last one at home, and Argentina played as awful as we are playing lately for another draw (And 5 matches without winning - 6 counting the friendly match against Belarus). Chile recovered from last 0-3 against Brazil and kicked some Colombian asses. Paraguay is really solid and has a confortable lead. Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela seem to have no chance to qualify when we're almost half way (8/18 rounds).

Brazil  0 - 0 Bolivia
Chile 4 - 0 Colombia
Paraguay   2 - 0 Venezuela
Uruguay        0 - 0 Ecuador
Peru        1 - 1 Argentina

So that's why my Peruvian Facebook friend has "1- 1...con garra!!!" as his status report...
But we can't be quite sure.

Exactly, though it probably should say "1-1... Gracias Basile por ser pesimo!"

Argentina sucked again (Maybe we should change our coach) and lost for the first time in 10 matches against Chile in qualifyers (6-3-1) and first time since '73. All of our good streaks are ending with Basile as coach, really nice...

Update of rounds 9 and 10 after round 10th finishes.

Basile stepped down. What is now? Who is the next?

It's weird to see Argentina suffering in the qualifications with this incredible stock of players. :-\ Vamos Argentina! ;)

We are not suffering, everybody knows we'll qualify, even without a coach. The thing is tactics are more important than players today (as Bielsa really taught Basile last match).
Who's next? A few names...
Batista (World Champion in 86, the one with a long beard, looks like Jesus) is my favourite and he won the gold medal in Beijing, so he would be great for the generation change. Besides he likes offensive football.
Russo (coaches the actual leader of Argentina's league). Quite good with tactical work and hardworking, but not NT material for me... (he is "Pechofrio" I don't know how to say it in English...)
Maradona, the first choice in everybody's hearts but not first if you think carefully. I would like to see him as an assistant coach of Batista and not as the main coach.
Bianchi (won Libertadores and Intercontinental cup with Boca Jrs., back when Boca Jrs. won 3 Libertadores around 2000). He refused to coach the NT once, so he doesn't deserve to coach it now, at least that's how I feel.

A bit delayed but here it is...

9th round results

Bolivia 3 - 0 Peru
Argentina2 - 1 Uruguay
Colombia0 - 1 Paraguay
Venezuela0 - 4 Brazil
Ecuador1 - 0 Chile

10th round results

Bolivia2 - 2 Uruguay
Paraguay 1 - 0 Peru
Chile1 - 0 Argentina
Venezuela3 - 1 Ecuador
Brazil0 - 0 Colombia

Paraguay won both matches and got 6 points away from Brazil and 11 points away from elimination, we can say they'll be at next WC for sure! Brazil played a great match at Venezuela but then fail to win at home (again). Argentina won it's first (an only) official match in 2008 but then was tactic and resourseless to beat a very disciplined Chile at Santiago. 10 points divide 2nd place from last and there are only 6 points between last classified (Uruguay) and last place (Peru) so every team has a chance, though it looks like Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay have some advantage against the others, leaving Uruguay, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela fighting for last spot. Peru has played to awfully to think they have a shot and Bolivia will have to win every match at La Paz and get around 6 or 7 points away from Home's height advantage to qualify, and those 7 points seem too far to get.

Now it seems hearts decided that question...
