2, In the last period of charging I had to suspend the charge at ~90% because I had to go somewhere and then later I continued it to 100%. (I know it's not that healthy but come on... I take care of the battery, 9 from 10 times I make an almost ideal charge - letting it down to 2-5% and charging to 100%)

Actually the ideal charging procedure for a LI-ION battery is to not let it fall below 40% and change only up to 70-80%, then stop. When you frequently get close to the empty/full capacity boundaries, the battery ages a lot faster.
The method you described works well with NiMH batteries - commonly used in AA and AAA rechargable batteries, but not for notebook.

LOL, I didn't knew about it (shame on me, it's based on chemistry)! But still: this problem has nothing with the capacity and ageing - in certain positions, it works for the required time.

LOL, just discovered: free space at my D: drive ended with 7 zeros! (not anymore since I saved this pic there)

Any experiences with smart phones? I would like to buy one - unless I fail on 18th November...

Postponed. I need the money for more important things.

If you decide to buy one I can highly recommend the Motorola Defy

Hmmmm... faster than expected. Almost ready, only minor programs are missing (although HP drivers are quite stupid, some of them should be fixed).

It's strange to see that lack of wifi drivers make my computer a lot faster.

Yesterday Barnabas poured a glass of water on my computer. It did not turn on after.
Took it apart, left it try dry for 24 hours on the airconditioner, assembled and its working again. Phew....  :o

Lucky you are! I had this once, when I went into the sea with my cellphoen. I took all parts apart afterwards, put it one day in the oven (50° C) and it worked perfectly afterwards for years! Most importatnt: You should NOT turn on the device after liquid came into it, because you could cause a irreparable short-cirquit!

yes, I know the first thing to do is to turn off and leave that way as long as possible. It is just so hard to resist turning it on...

also if its not water you have a higher chance of screwing up.
Actually this is the second time for this poor computer made contact with water - the first time it was flooded by rain in my bag :( The keyboard did not work for 5 days after that but working fine ever since (knock-knock)
