Stunts On Ice

Just a fun idea for a race.

You would all use a car with very low grip. You then race a certain track. And it would seem like you'd all be racing on ice.

I guess you could even change the track elements and terrain elements visually so that they would look as if it's all ice and snow. And use such a version of Stunts to race. But that's quite a bit more work.

Cheers.

Confess, you were following Wirtual's Trackmania live stream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI5TBNqGqQUwhen) when you came up with the idea :)

Perhaps... but they were having lots of Fun!

That's a fun idea! It would fit nicely along @alanrotoi 's themed rallies  :)

That's so nice! Didn't know you could do headlights and such.

I had one more idea.

You could also use Bigfoot Trucks. But you'd driving on chicane tiles. And you could make corners with chicanes, like in the Wiki Catalogue. You know these things. And then you'd have a very wide road.

And it would be possible to change the chicane tiles visually for that race, to make a 2x2 muddy tile.

That's all I have. I'll be going now. Have a good race.

I don't think anyone is interested, I already came with that idea.

The version of my DAF we used in the Rallycross Regionals live race event might be a little bit like the car you're looking for. The grip can go really low as long as your wheelbase isn't too long, and you'll get a very skiddy car.

QuoteThe skidding code was actually easy, the hard part was making it so the skid happened gradually and the user could try and stop it from happening.

"The skidding code" is because the game has no physics (except for ~gravity) and the cars never move "like on ice". My games don't have "skidding code" and I forgot to mention that at the end, README.txt says:

QuoteYou should probably not modify the next numbers on the line except for the last number, which is the friction coefficient.

Reducing the friction coefficient really makes the car move like on ice, but no more stunts, obviously. Must also reduce "accel", "brake" and "power" to make the car drivable.
