Well I bought no beer in Kosice... but a nice bottle of Becherovka!

Becherovka is an herbal bitters made in Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic, flavored with anise seeds, cinnamon, and approximately 32 other herbs, first sold in 1807. It is normally served cold, and is often used as an aid to digestion. It can also be served with tonic water, in which case it is known as a beton (Czech for "concrete"). Its alcohol content is 38 percent.

Another belgian on the list:

Barbar Blonde Au Miel (BEL, 8% alcohol, 579 HUF/0.33 l): the usual strong belgian beer taste with some piquant savour in the background thanks to the added honey. Belgians really know how to make extra fine beer specialities! Mark: 9/10

CTG, have you never tasted Tesco Economy beer??? (Nowadays they call it Viking.) I think it's the cheapest beer in Hungary. Its quality is something like Koccint?s wine - but you won't get drunk, because it contains only 3% alcohol!

Schlossmühle is cheaper.

We do already. Testing is only the 10 percent of my beer intake.

Another beer combo:

San Miguel (ESP, 5.4% alcohol, 399 HUF/0.5 l): I don't know if I tried this already earlier or not - so I had to taste it again(?). Not very characteristic, average taste, good for warm days. Mark: 5.5/10

1664 Blanc (FRA, 5% alcohol, 319 HUF/0.25 l): not exactly a beer - it contains added spices: orange, coriander. Excellent taste but it's really not beerish. Mark: unofficial 10/10, don't add it to the rankings.

Satan Red (BEL, 8% alcohol, 539 HUF/0.33 l): Belgian and strong - quite a usual one. Nothing more. Mark: 7.5/10

Very nice offer but I'm a bit afraid of Chinese alcoholic drinks - Jacky told some terrible things about it... (not beer, but Er Gou Tou, the gasoline taste wine).

Btw I'm drinking Tokaji Aranyfürt wine at the moment (semi-sweet, very tasteful).

I have just returned from a fancy supermarket, where tinned (355ml) Chinese beers range from HUF 50 to 100, and there were several Korean and Japanese available as well...

I have bought a Tsingtao and a Shanshui for my brother.

Tsingtao is really good, but it's big, you can also get it in Europe. Yanjing is another classic chinese beer which is reasonably good. From Japan, I only remember Asahi. I hope you're having a great trip
