AS some of you know, I work in the food industry. My company is a fruit preparator for yogurts, ice creams or pastry.
As Danone is now implemented in Hungary, the Activia range of products starts to be available there :

What we do at my job are the apricot, the strawberry, the cranberry-raspberry, the fig, the grapefruit and the prune for Activia range.

We also produce another strawberry for Vitalinea range :

And a toffee for Danette range (at the bottom of vanilla cream, this picture is the simple vanilla cream product as I didn't found the picture of the real product) :

All these are shipped from France to the Budapest plant of Danone Kft.

Try them guys and give me your feed-back. ;)

I won't try, because Danone is my enemy. Maybe I wrote here the reason once. If not: Danone bought the famous biscuit factory of Gy?r (my hometown). They started to produce less and less there, fired most of the workers and they wanted to close the factory (few years ago). Protesting was so hard that they promised to keep it alive. Now they try to close it again...

I don't know about biscuit part, at my job we produce fruit preparations to create yoghurt with fruits. Danone (or other dairy industries producing yogurts like Yoplait, Nestl?, ...) create the yoghurt or fromage frais and they add our fruit preparations to create yoghurts with fruits.

This picture is based on old Danone logo, the new one (not so new as it has been created some years ago already) is slightly different.

sounds like a nice job!

I don't like yoghurt but will ask my brother and girlfriend to try these out and rate the fruits :)

Sorry Krys - but for our small country, these French (and German) companies in food industry mean the same that Americans (like McDonald's) mean for you. Why aren't these fruit products prepared in Hungary, with the work of Hungarian people, using fruits grown here? I think our local factories (Gy?r biscuit factory is a very good example) could sell products much cheaper and better compared to the imported ones... That's why the big Western companies bought many of these factories, just for closing them. They couldn't defeat the Hungarian concurrency in a fair competition - so they killed it that way. :(

The yoghurt is prepared in Hungary, only the fruit preparation added comes from France. And not for a long time, we have a factory in Czech Republic and also 2 in Austria. It is planned that one of these factories will make these fruit (and toffee) preparations in a near future. So that's why I ask you to taste it while it is made in France. ;)

For the moment we produce them in France as we are currently making these products from France for the western Europe Danone factories. It was to be sure that these products are the same all over Europe. Now we will progressively transfert these productions in Austria and/or Czech Republic.

Anyway, the fruits themselves come from all the World. We even buy fruits in Hungary sometimes (berries mainly). It depends of the years and of the fruit costs that change at every crop.

The group I'm working in has numerous business in Hungary : fruit juice, sugar and modified starch production.

Kaposvar was a great track in USC. :D
Not like Paks. :P

That's why we won't have a 'Fukushima' track. Those nuclear power plant tracks are always weird.
