Wow, I've never heard of "proven afterlife" before... But go ahead, give us the proof :)

Question 2: do other animals have an afterlife too?

Of course animals have an afterlife! Just take a look at my dog; she'll be a queen in next life and will be nothing nothing but lying in a huge bed, surrounded by people who will be feeding her and patting her all day and night. Of course there will be another person making the decisions.

I can only tell what her afterlife is like. But I'm sure other animal have many afterlives too ;)

Other animals? Like Alain? ;D

QuoteQuestion 2: do other animals have an afterlife too?

Yes. All of them. Even the most simple one's.

QuoteWow, I've never heard of "proven afterlife" before... But go ahead, give us the proof

The easiest way to prove it would be to take a shotgun and blast your head off, right? But I guess it's not that kind of proof you want to see, right?

So what are the other options?

1)"Proving" it on the forum. Now imagine I would pursue this idea. Just to get started in the whole topic I would proly have to write ~10 pages to make it sound believable to at least some degree. But those 10 pages would just lead to 50 more counter questions and I would be caught in an endless debate. So no, forum is way to tedious. And then, it's just talk and not learning by doing right?
This leads me to point:

2)Imagine I would kill you to a point where you are "nearly dead", needing to be reanimated. Most people who experience this are 100% sure of afterlife but hey, where's the proof? It could all be biased, constructed by chemical processes. So you need to be a bit lucky, being able to see or get information you are impossible to collect while being in that condition. For example "seeing" who was in the room 1 floor above to you without anyone having told you. If that or something similar happened to you I guess it would be enough for you to accept your "prove". Unfortunatly it wouldn't convince most other people so people who want to have "hard proof" have to experience it personally.
The whole process is kinda risky as you could easily die during the experiment if things don't work the way we planned them.

3)There are other ways to "confirm" it. But if I would write about them I would just sound more obscure and then, they are not as straightforward as 2) and tend to lead into bigger debates like in 1).

I totally agree with Argammon, especially with his third point! I know and experienced, that people even turned away...

Sorry not buying that... Because people have strange experiences when they are nearly dead, there is an afterlife, even for animals? Come on Argammon, master of logic, don't take that on yourself :)

And why disregard all the proof to the contrary? How can there be an afterlife? Who's creating it? How do you function without existing materially? How can you see, hear etc.?
It all demands some kind of very profound religion to be true.
But we can't be quite sure.

First of all it is not my job to convince you. I know that I am right and you WILL know that I am right once you are dead. Believe what you want. And "strange experiences" is a very weak explanation for unexplainable events and trust me I have dealt a lot more with that matter than you have. I know that my attitude is sometimes a bit arrogant on this forum on other topics. But that should not force you to disregard my opinion on this topic.

QuoteAnd why disregard all the proof to the contrary?

There does not exist a single proof that proofs the contrary. The only thing that exist are some counter arguments against arguments which promote afterlife.

QuoteHow can there be an afterlife? Who's creating it? How do you function without existing materially? How can you see, hear etc.?

I will answer without proving any point just for your information. It's your choice what you are doing with it.

1) Unspecific question
2) Noone is creating it. It's there.
3) Call it soul, ethereal body or whatever. Life is so different there that it's hard to describe in physical terms.
4)You can't really see or hear. But you are gathering information which you are interpretating as seeing hearing etc mentally as that is what you are used to when you die.

QuoteIt all demands some kind of very profound religion to be true.

Wrong. Either it is true and I am right or it is not true and you are right. Religion has nothing to do with it. The main point is that I have little gain trying to convince you. It's especially difficult to do this in english and on a forum. But since I guess you are not really interested anyways and think I am crazy to have that opinion it's not worth that I get into even more crazy details, right?
The only information that I think is valuable to tell you is that it usefull to be aware that afterlife is possible at the moment you die. If not it might have negative consequences as you might be totally confused thinking you are mentally ill...
I gave you that information and if you reject it or not is your choice.

Since it was now been proven that I will have an afterlife, I would really like to know what I will be in my next life :)

You will be as beautiful as now. ;)

Here is one : there is an after life and it's SOOOOOOO cool there that nobody ever wanted to came back from there to tell us, just because they're all too busy making party all the time ! :D :D :D :D :D

Here is another : you can buy it from LucasArts game (yes, editor of all the best 2D "point and click" adventure games)

Well there's not much to talk about since you won't bring out the arguments. Anyway, thanks for telling me that I have an afterlife, but I'm not going to believe it just because you tell me... Am I going to live forever then? And there are so many other questions... like when was my soul created?
I am sure you have dealt with this kind of thing much more than I have, but still, you are talking about near-death experiences. But after you're die, your brain actually rots away and disappears. I think strange brain activity in a near-dead person doesn't really say anything about a "person" who doesn't even have a body, let alone a brain.
Your "I am sure I am right and you will know I am right" reminded me a bit too much of fundamentalists :/ Why should I believe anyone who says that? There are thousands of people who will tell me exactly those words and have a thousand different opinions. All sure they are each right and all the others are wrong.
Anyway, thanks for the information, it won't hurt me to have it. If you are right, I will buy you a beer in the afterlife :)
But we can't be quite sure.

My goals in life... well, the border between minimum needs and goals, and between goals and dreams. I will score up my minimum needs, a realistic plan of my goals, a bit dreamy plan of my goals (I need luck to do this, but it wouldn't be a miracle), and I'm going to write about my dream goals, too. I would also divide goals into short-term, mid-term and long-term goals, but not now...

Minimum needs:
-a small flat to live in
-a job (soon) which I can do and more or less I like to do, and enough money to sustain myself without a big problem (including some money to travel and entertain myself of course)
-to travel as much as possible
-have friends, meet them regularly
-to be bored as little as possible

Goals:
-to find a job in my real profession, and to earn the average Hungarian salary with that (if I have to learn more to do this, I would like to learn, too)
-to live close to my closest friends in a flat
-to have a car
-to keep in touch with all my friends I have now through my whole life, and to get new ones
-to find a girl who will love me for a long time, and who matches with my minimum expectations (no piercing, no high heeled shoes etc.)
-to keep in touch with the MetNet and Stunts crew as long as possible
-to travel as much as possible, visit new foreign countries
-to attend as many heavy metal concerts as possible
-to attend as much parties as possible

Goals (a bit dreamy version):
-to womanize as much possible in the next three or four years, and then to find a beautiful, tall and thin, natural and very femaleish girl who would always love me (or to get Laura back :))
-to find a decent job in my profession with a good salary
-to live, love and work in the same place
-to live in a detached house, and to build up a meteorology station there
-to travel as much as possible abroad, at least visiting a country on a different continent
-to find a group of people to organize bike trips with around Kazincbarcika, and who would motivate me to ride my bike as much as earlier

Dreams:
-to find the perfect woman (see in an other topic)
-to find a job in my profession which I really love to do - the same work, the same hobby
-to travel very very much, to visit the Southern Hemisphere and to see the Southern Cross on the sky at least once in my life... no, to visit all of the continents at least once in my life ;)
-to watch a home match of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Juventus FC once in my life
-let my closest friends be my neighbours, and to attend parties and travel together through all our lives in our free time
