I think you mean this here. But even @Overdrijf has not has not published his findings, if any. But his dinosaur & dodo behave well, so maybe he managed to discover the secret of polygonal steering...

I didn't discover much. I think I messed with it a little back then, trying to make a boat with a rudder? Maybe? But if I did it didn't work.

A wheel has 6 vertices, so it should be something like "of the first 6 vertices the one furthest forward moves in the direction you steer and the one furthest back moves in the opposite direction, and the same for the second six vertices", but no clue beyond that.

That's one thing I do know, that the vertices, the points where the shapes come together, are usually more important internally than the polygons themselves. That's why the whole neck of the dinosaur morphs and not just two polygons leaving gaps.

That's a very useful piece of info! Also, from my experiments it seems you can replace a wheel with a 6-sided polygon (must be 6 so that it has the same # of vertexes as the wheel) and have it steer without glitching.
