Here's a quick early demo on a minimal test track.

Edit: ah, Playstunts was already mentioned in another thread on the reverse engineering forum. Somehow managed to miss that when posting.

Hello Stunts folks. Big news! :)

Someone recently dropped a browser-native version of Stunts. Not DOSBox or other emulation – it's the entire game reverse-engineered and faithfully rewritten in typescript (with the help of the new language models). And released open source. There is also optional 60fps interpolation and remastered graphics. https://playstunts.com

The "big news" part is that the game can now be modified in any way you like. Bot-written TypeScript may not be the easiest to read, but it's so much easier than reverse-engineering a DOS game with lost source code.

I've forked it and am nearly done with a new tournament system. An admin sets the tracks and available cars, and players simply open the webpage, log in, and get straight to driving with zero setup. On reaching the finish line, the replay file is uploaded automatically, and players can watch a replay of the current tournament track from the main menu, with all players' best attempts overlaid in one replay, live as they come in. This much already works, and you could of course do anything else with the results. Also, "continue driving" is no longer an issue, because it's just gone from the menu in this version.

We'll organise a small Finnish Stunts Championships in the near future, and if everything goes well, I'll then release my Tournament Stunts version too.

This is not intended as competition for ZakStunts. My version of the tournament is a single half-hour or one-hour session, where players make a few attempts at a few tracks. But you could of course organise any kind of tournament/championship with it.

After the tournament I'm also planning to try making new track elements, and maybe even a simultaneous multiplayer mode.
