Hello Stunts folks. Big news! :)

Someone recently dropped a browser-native version of Stunts. Not DOSBox or other emulation – it's the entire game reverse-engineered and faithfully rewritten in typescript (with the help of the new language models). And released open source. There is also optional 60fps interpolation and remastered graphics. https://playstunts.com

The "big news" part is that the game can now be modified in any way you like. Bot-written TypeScript may not be the easiest to read, but it's so much easier than reverse-engineering a DOS game with lost source code.

I've forked it and am nearly done with a new tournament system, where players simply open the webpage and get straight to competing with zero hassle. On reaching the finish line, the replay file is uploaded automatically, and players can watch a replay of the current tournament track from the main menu, with all players' best attempts overlaid in one replay, live as they come in. You could of course do anything else with the source code too. Also, "continue driving" is no longer an issue, because it's just gone from the menu in this version.

We'll organise a small Finnish Stunts Championships in the near future, and if everything goes well, I'll then release my version too.

This is not intended as competition for ZakStunts. My version of the tournament is a single half-hour or one-hour session, where players make a few attempts at a few tracks. But you could of course organise any kind of tournament/championship with it.

The more Stunts competitions around the internet, the better! Keep us up to date, we can definitely link form the portal, and we can make space on the Forum.

Looking forward to testing this too!

It's coming along nicely. Replays with 200 attempts on the same track are a fun spectacle to watch. :D

We have a new track format (optional and separate from .trk which is kept original). In the new format you can have more height levels and gentler slopes, and scenery blocks can be resized and placed off-grid, so the tracks are starting to look a little prettier.

Also some random fun stuff, like driving on apartment building roofs and all the 6 CPU drivers to play against at the same time.

There's still lots to do, but looking forward to publishing this eventually. :)
