I gotta a spectrum!!! a WORKING speccie... I always own my original one from back in 1989, but it doesnt start... so i am so happy to play treasure island again, and now i am 30, i can finish it!!!

last time i played it i was 14 and the joystick it seemed so big! now i think its too small for my big hands...

any other experience with an old computer revival? amiga? ST? CPC?

the next restoration project is the CPC 464... with operation wolf and the light gun!!! EBAY RULES...

I have one question: i want to read tzx spectrum emulators "rom" files downloaded from internet to "burn" them onto an audio cassette... Do i need to open the sinclair +2 and add a do it yourself "line in" cable or is there a way to record the cassettes directly from the PC... i tried it already but the cassette volume seems way too hard to read, and/or (listening to walk like an egyptian) it seems the record speed is irregular... I will browse all the existing forums and websites which subject is that, but if you had idea, tell me

argentina like the spectrum, russia and east european countries too... i also read that a lot of spectrum are still on duty over there, and clones are still produced and sold in russia!!! CRAZY!!!

SPECCIE FOREVER... it was my first it was the finest... damned... my little kid fingers typed basic lines on this cute little qwerty keyboard... this made me do one half century leap into the future... I programmed a database with the world capitals, a piano program (several versions) and a scientific calculator!!! I also programmed a database for the computer games tests in joystick magazine, that i later ported onto the CPC 464!!! When i think about those days, it's like remembering some very first sexual experience!!!

My first computer was in 1988, it was a Commodore 64. We won on the lottery a relatively bigger price. My parents went to Austria to do the shopping. They bought this computer, and they bought our first color tv as well. These were quite rare things in Hungary I think that time, especially in the poor region I live.

1st one for me was a C. 64
But before I had a console : Philips VideoPac (European version of Odyssey2), and I also played Atari VCS 2600 at a friend's home at this date.
One of my uncle had a ZX81 when I was very young, and another one had an Intellevision console with the famous Pong and a very few other games.

My first was a C64, my parents brought it for us when they were able to travel to London in 1987.

I still have a C64 (a different one), with a special cable to transfer games from the PC. Altough I rarely play, it's still great fun.

My first computer was also C64. It was around '88. And I got it from my cousin from Switzerland. Like I got my first 3 bikes from him. It's recommended to have an older cousin from Switzerland:)

Only my C64 was bought in Hungary? (As you can guess, that was my first computer, I got it as a Christmas present in 1990.)

Like with ever new technical development, we started a bit late. My first computer was a PC, a 4/86 in 1994. Stunts was one of my first games ever!

I can remember that evening when my parents brought home our first computer. I was amazed to see that kind of machine. My father and my mother started to play a skiing computer game on it, and I joined, too (my father was 27, my mother 29, so they were young, and never seen a computer game before, so they were amazed by the game as well; me 5). It consisted of downhill skiing and ski jumping. We couldn't stop playing that fantastic game. That was my first PC game ever.

In the next few years we played a lot on the C64. My parents, me, my father's brother, my aunt's boyfriend. We had many many great Night Mission (a pinball game) matches, but we also played many football and ice hockey matches. Later with my classmates, we were addicted to Gianna Sisters. I also played BuggyBoy, Speed King (ouch, what a great motorcycling grand prixes I had then!), Commando, Krakout P and other fantastic games. What great memories!

I got my first PC in 1996. I was 13 then. I was amazed when I recognized I can make text files in the WordPad. That was the time I started to write my diary (and finished in 2004, by coincidence a few weeks before getting to know Laura). The first games I played on it were Scorched Earth (the biggest classic for me besides Stunts), CD Man, Test Drive 2, GPega, and a kind of golf game. In the end of this year, I got The One among computer games, the eternal classic, STUNTS. I was addicted to that game especially between 1996-98 and 2002-03.

i received today the cassette converter for mp3 player i ordered on ebay and I pee myself in joy.

i converted the TZX files (speccie games) to wav with playtzx.exe then i convert those to mp3 and i copy them on my mp3 reader. i plug my mp3 reader to the spectrum via the cassette converter and it reads the sound of the loading program.

the spectrum "CD" or "hard disk" was audio cassette!!!

my next project will be to burn lots of games on mp3 format, and i will have all my previous games on a cd. btw afterburner is denied for distribution! twenty years after, i don't understand that... i am utterly gutted by that. i ordered afterburner ten years ago and it never loaded. even after an exchange. i had the same problem with microsoft flight simulator 95!!! it's one of the only game i bought and i could never reinstall it after three installations!!! since then, i hardly remember i bought a software. I'm Spartacus. a slave revolting.

there is a patch for the ipod to read tzx files directly as if it was a mp3 format.

we are living under heavy pressurization in our small existences. internet releases the pressure.

i rushed to lots of areas in commando and kracked a lots of bricks in krakout too

The skiing game's name was 'Olympic Skier', but I don't know if it was its real name or not.

I still have SuperSki 2 game somewhere. It was a good one as far as I remember it.
But I have even better memories of Summer Games 1 & 2 and Winter Games I played on my good old C64. :-D
I must find a C64 emulator and the roms. So many good games were on C64. Graphics were simple compared to nowadays, but gameplay was excellent.

I don't remember my personnal best, I have to find the 3"1/2 microdisk and play this game again !!!
My favorite part was bobleigh. :-D
