Question for the historians @Duplode @alanrotoi : when was the last time a car with auto-shift won? The latest I can find is ZCT005  :o

Also, Alan clearly wins this prediction round!

There were special rules tracks, for example zct p03 was in auto transmission and maybe a track of 2007 (which all had special rules) maybe had an auto transm. race. But when it was driver's choice I think we have to check 2001 as you did.

Before yesterday, the most recent one had been ZCT220, which was a Superkart race. The advantage of manual gears for the Kart and the McLaren MP4/4 is small, so it is not unusual to see auto being competitive with them -- certainly more unusual than doing it with one of the DSI cars!

@Duplode, I have one question for you: why did you cancel traffic on Wrongway in March and why haven't you cancelled it now? What's the difference between Wrongway's on tracks z296 and z298?

While we wait for Duplode, I will point out that Erik, author of Z296, had said he did not expect nor desire the wrong-way DWS technique.

In my case, my approach was "I took it into account and I think I made it impossible, but if someone manages to make it work, they deserve to enjoy the time saving". The whole point of my track was to stimulate the drivers to look for creative approaches. That's why under my track title I put a blue ℹ️ , not a yellow ⚠️ .

@HerrNove has put it better than I would. The issue was considered in both cases, looking into it together with the track creators. The conclusions were that in ZCT296 it would seriously undermine the concept of the track, while in ZCT298 it wouldn't be such a big deal relative to the design intent.
