I hope it's clear that I never intended to offend. My point was simply that, given your power-gear skills, you could achieve a strong result with the GTO if you put in the effort. I'm surprised that my wording came across as offensive.

I would have appreciated the benefit of the doubt—when I wrote 'if he bothers,' I simply meant 'if he chooses to put in the effort.' Perhaps the word 'bother' carried an unintended implication of inconvenience, but that wasn't my intention. As you know, not everyone here is a native speaker, and sometimes phrasing can come across differently than intended.

I didn't take it seriously, I know what you meant! The "if he bothers. But when was the last time he did?" language was strong though, so I decided to point that out jokingly — see "light offence" and "". But even that wasn't clear enough 😅

Agreed, and written communication, without face expressions and tone of voice, is extra difficult!
