If I said the Hungarian participant was extremely crappy in 2013... well... this year we are going to send another untalented peasant with an awful mainstream pop song (I'm pretty sure that voting was manipulated). And the singer, well... a violent celebrity, nothing more. He had some scandalous adventures lately: he insulted and attacked others several times in pubs. Of course he wasn't punished for these fights, as he's a celeb... being "famous" means an exemption from everything in Hungary.

I hope he'll fail in the semi-finals.

(BJ: it's time to charge me with racism, because the guy is half-N... :D)

It's okay to insult black people, as long as you're not insulting them because they're black.

About the Eurovision Song Contest, I usually think it's painful to watch because it's trash culture and the songs are so bad, but recently I learned to see it as a kind of parody of itself, which makes it more fascinating. There was a great blog entry trying to explain it to Americans. It's a fun piece of pan-European pop culture. I'm not sure there are even any other instances of that.
But we can't be quite sure.

Actually I liked the winner of 2013 (Emmelie de Forest). Yes, she's hot. :D

Another memorable one: the Greek winner from 2005 (?), it was a great Shakira parody.

I have watched it once with the British commentary. It was hillarious, I laughed my ass off. They consider it exactly the same - a parody.
