I really don't understand the palette with stunts.

Are you using stressed to import your dashboard images?  If so, the user reference on the Stunts Wiki may help.  It has some information specific to importing images and the Stunts palette.

Yes I use stressed.
"Using indexed files actually may make things harder, as you will need to set up the external image editor to use the palette, and transparency data will be lost"

It's the reason I don't used indexed colors except for inm bitmap.

If I open a exported image in Photoshop it automatically sets the pallet.
If I then copy paste an other image into that the image is automatically modified to the pallet.
It is convenient sometimes.
Still a lot of work though.
