Stunts Questions / Re: new cars
August 04, 2007, 05:51:48 AM
Just checked address 0x0004. Nice, but that's too bad the colour set definitions for each car are buried into the graphics files (and thus we're restricted to seven colours by car)...

Stunts Questions / Car colours
August 04, 2007, 01:25:51 AM
Out of curiosity: anyone knows where does RPLInfo reads colour data from? And by the way, was it ever tried to change colour sets of the cars? I'd love to drive the pink Indycars and black Speedgates that wander around on SDR site...

Oops, I missed this topic due to the forum breakdown...  :-[
unfortunately, I can't properly answer now: due to the utter incompetence of the shop, I chose to return my C2D and cancel the deal, so no power gaming form me for a while.  :(

The Speedgate works really fine on racetrack, so do yourseleves a favour and give it a try - if possible, on both tracks! :)

Stunts Drivers Races / Re: RH - R7/2007 - "GATE"
August 01, 2007, 04:21:02 AM
Oh Mark, Stunts' track validation kept the gate shut for me... ;) after a bit of TB tweaking, it seems the issue is created by those two jumps into nowhere at North and South ends of the track (validator says "Jump distance too long!", as it should be!...), and that putting landing ramps after them clears the problem. So, would you please blind the validator for me?

So it's over... good fun in a great tournament, thanks to CTG and to all of my opponents for it's realization and congratulations to Dottore for his utter domination of the contest (his confident use of 3rd gear in Nizza was the cherry on the cake, although I also could learn about proper 1st gear use from Mark's lap...). As for my participation, even though three victories was much better than I would expect, the most positive thing was the learning - every track called my attention to a particular way of improving my times or a unknown car characteristic. Thanks all again!

Funny? The shape? :D

Not only that, it has a nice sense of rhythm. If this was USC you might be able to give it a cool soundtrack  ;D.

Finally I leave the seventh spot! Too bad I could not shave another tenth in order to get a point, but anyway it was a good race. Now, the current track looks quite funny...

PS2.: I found the ideal term to describe the driving experience with Speedgate: ground effect. One can almost feel the downforce sucking the car to the ground  8).

So what is the OFFICIAL final result?

Remember it may take a while until Paleke is able to answer, but it should not be different from: Mark, Krys, You, Me, AbuRaf and Paleke...

On the issues Krys has not mentioned in Argammon's post, I particularly agree with declaring quiet final days after 10 days of no leader change (instead of no replay sent), to close "seasonal" competition for all tracks in 90 days (if the longer-lasting tracks are the best ones, they should have a winner declared! Also, 90 days might be a bit long), and to declare a "season" winner after X (21 maybe?) races. Adittionaly, be careful with the multipliers, they can be a majour source of imbalance. And overall, the planning seems great Zak, very promising! ;)

Just tested it! Using the Melange as an arbitrary (...) reference, the Speedgate is obviously faster and has near-perfect handling, but the Melange somehow feels lighter and more responsive. Mind vs. heart situation, I reckon... but anyway, great car: the highlight is that the driving experience feels surpisingly realistic (would someone think of using this word to Stunts? :P).

PS.: Mark, you understimated a lot the acceleration of your car. Just put it into a drag race vs. my ZR1 GTC ;D.

Indy also has this feature Duplode. And if you want to see how to get PG in a loop at the very beggining with Ferrari GTO, check the attached replay from Alan Rotoi.

Damn, it's kinda hard to get convinced the yellow car is a Ferrari! Great handling there. And ;D at the triple loop...

Competition 2007 / Re: ZCT 76 - Target
July 05, 2007, 05:07:52 AM
Indeed, the analysis is quite revealing. In fact, I'm actually happy for not having lost that much time at the on-road part (before the paths rejoin) - I was 3rd before the tunnel, although the gap to CTG and Mark by a reasonable margin. After that, my original choice of trajectory around the banked roads couldn't propel me further. In the end, it was not the milisecond race it seemed to be...
