There are currently only two active Stunts competitions (three counting the brazilian championship): Zakstunts and WSC. Two long-time competition managers, CTG and Mark L. Rivers, are inactive, but have kept the possibility open of starting new competitions. What should these be like? Free Kalpen style?  Alternative? Tournament-based like IMSA cup? Classic like USC or SDR?  What do the racers want - and what are the potential competition managers' plans?

A classic question. When you live in a society, you have to do something for the society (work) in order to survive (get paid). You have to do this for about 40 years between education and retirement. So, how can you make it through this period in the best possible way? By working hard and feigning interest in everything? By working as little as possible? By trying to earn as much money as possible? By leaving society and finding some other way to survive? Please make suggestions, preferably with examples from your own life

Would you prefer to suffer or to be empty? To suffer if it means at other times you are ecstatic, or to feel reasonably pleasant all the time? How much are you willing to suffer in order to sometimes feel beauty or true excitement?
I think a big part of what we call pain is actually pleasure. What do you believe?

I have never been bored for the last year or so, but today I find myself rather bored, so what should I do about that? I don't feel like racing But let's make a list of things you can do if you're bored.

Did you know we "have" a wonderful IRC chatroom in this community? It is "#stunts" on EFNet. Once, we used it a lot and had great chats and "deadline parties" (that's one for the wiki) there, but these days nobody comes there. However, maybe if we set up times to meet, we could?

Maybe we've had this thread before, but what music do you listen to while racing, if any? I have a strange habit of always listening to upbeat electronic music while racing... synth-pop, laserdance, powerpop etc.

Is there anything older than Stunts that's still alive in this way? I think it's quite an achievement if not. Mainly due to Oliver Kalpen and ?cs Peter, but also the rest of us.

Maybe Civilization has the same age and is still played? But does anyone play Civ 1 these days?

Fill them out!

I've always found a really good replay to give the same satisfaction as a piece of art. The expression of creativity, craftsmanship and perfection in a reasonably aesthetical environment seems to constitute art for me. When watching other people's really good replays, I can feel inspired or thrilled, but it will never be as good as watching my own replays   I'm self-centered and love to watch my own replays, provided they are good. Then it gives the same pride and satisfaction as reading something I've written or listening to my songs. Once again, only if it's good. Sometimes, I drive a replay and can then really enjoy watching it, until someone else does a faster replay, and thereby points out mistakes in my replay. Then it has lost its perfection, and its creativity perhaps also fades in the light of the other replay...

How do you feel about this? Are replays art? Is racing artistry?

Nothing beats beer and football poetry! Yes that's right, screw football and let's have some real cultural aesthetics here. I'll start by posting one of my favourite poems, by John Keats http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Keats. It's called "Ode To Melancholy":

Some words:

Lethe = mythical river in the land of the dead, or something like that
wolfsbane, nightshade, yew-berries = poisonous plants
Proserpine = greek death goddess of sorts

One thing I really love about this community is how we've almost developed our own language. I think it could be great if we could list all the terms here and maybe make some kind of encyclopedia

The Stunts World Championship/Super Cup 2007 match:

Zakstunts champion Renato Biker vs ISM Champion Ayrton

I think such a match would be really great!
Then they should battle on 1 track, 1 month, designed by a high-class track-designer in a neutral style + neutral car. As leading time bonus makes no sense with only two racers, I suggest a checkpoint system. Leader after each week gets 1 point, and winner at the end gets 3 points. This means that the race can't be won with leading time, but if one person leads on all checkpoints and the other wins at the end, it's a draw, and there will be a playoff of some kind. Only risk is then that if after two checkpoints, both racers have been at the lead, the third checkpoint will not matter. But that's not so important...

But who will organize this, and will Renato Biker and Ayrton agree to the race?
