Actually that staircase goes from the basement to the ground floor... But is that up or down? When you come from the ground floor, it goes down, but when you come from the basement, it goes up. When you are in the middle of it, like Zak on the picture, it goes both up and down! Is the answer connected to the amount of time Dark Chaser will be away?
But we can't be quite sure.
