UEFA Supercup final, Falcao destroyed "Dinamo London":

Atletico Madrid - Chelsea 4-1

WHITEWASH!

BonzaiJoe

Great. I can't stand Chelsea.
But we can't be quite sure.

alanrotoi

Great player is Falcao, he played in River Plate and did many goals.

Acceptable start from Györi ETO: 13 pts from 6 rounds, 15-9 goal difference, 2nd place at the moment. Although we haven't played with the main rivals yet, except Debrecen (the only lost match).

1 MTK Budapest 14 pts (10-4)
2 Györi ETO 13 pts (15-9)
3 Debreceni VSC 13 pts (10-5)
4 Budapest Honvéd 13 pts (10-6)
5 Videoton 13 pts (9-5)

These five teams are probably the strongest, too. No big surprise in the first 6 rounds.

BonzaiJoe

But we can't be quite sure.

Go MTK!

Did you know that MTK is traditionally a jewish (supported) team? Or at least it used to be that - 60 years ago... (not racism, just a fact, their stadium is close to the jewish quarter)

It's more important to mention the best player of the club history: BÉLA ILLÉS, THE GREATEST KING! ;D

BonzaiJoe

No, I didn't know that! Thank you for the Budapesti cultural information.
But we can't be quite sure.

CTG

Marca says cr is sad in Madrid. Probably because of being worse than Messi and Iniesta / earning less than Eto'o. I suggest him to leave for PSG or Anzhi... :D

CTG

UEFA EL group phase, first round:

Genk - Videoton 3-0 ;D ;D ;D

BonzaiJoe

But we can't be quite sure.

By the way, if there is an atheistic football club in Budapest, I'm gonna support that instead. Otherwise, go MTK!

By the way, if there is an atheistic football club in Budapest, I'm gonna support that instead. Otherwise, go MTK!

Let's see the first class clubs:

MTK Budapest (blue/white) - as I told earlier, it's considered to be a jewish club; despite of their successful past, the number of supporters is surprisingly low (attendance is usually under 1000); enemy: Ferencváros

Ferencvárosi TC (green/white) - the most popular Hungarian football club with the well-know stereotype: it's the team of the extreme right wing (their ultras are mainly brainless violent skinheads). Even 20 years ago it was an honour to play in "Fradi", nowadays it's just a simple football club with dozens of well-paid, but untalented players without soul. I still remember the Györi ETO - Ferencváros (2-3) match from 1997 - the last time when our stadium was full... Enemies: everybody (except Zalaegerszeg)

Budapest Honvéd (red/black) - Honvéd means soldier, it used to be the team of the military. Their stadium is in the suburbs (Kispest). Honvéd has a great past - even Puskás started there - but later it became a "gipsy" squad (several "brownies" played there, especially in the 90's - later they changed them to blacks). Nowadays it's quite a popular one  compared to an average Hungarian team. Enemy: Ferencváros

Újpesti TE (purple/white) - deadly enemy of Ferencváros, with the same quality (but significantly lower number) of fanatics. As far as I remember they used to be the team of the police (or the ministry of domestic affairs?). They were pushed heavily by the Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ) before the Fidesz era , now their lobby is a bit weaker (but still existing). Purple monkeys... ;D Friend: Rákospalotai EAC

Vasas (red/blue) - they are not enough characteristic to talk about them (and luckily they are in the second class now)

Btw why don't you support a team from the countryside? For example Györi ETO (green/white): no connection with any religious or political bullshit, having several (as for me: way too many) foreign players and they seem to be quite successful in the last few years. :D Enemies: Videoton, Zalaegerszegi TE

Others:

Debreceni VSC (red/white) - the most successful Hungarian team of the last 10 years, supported by the Hungarian State Railways, but it's also infected by politicans (Lajos Kósa, the major of Debrecen has quite a high position in Fidesz). Don't be surprised: the state will pay their new stadium... Enemies: Nyíregyháza, Diósgyör, Ferencváros

Videoton (red/blue, they tried to make Barca-like shirts in the close past) - see earlier, "Viktoroton" or "Fideoton", supported heavily by Fidesz. Enemy: Györi ETO

Diósgyöri VTK (red/white) - the team of Miskolc ("communist" town + high ratio of gipsies), many spectators, quite aggressive ultras. It's always hard to win as a guest there, especially since their financial situation is getting better. Enemies: Debreceni VSC, Kazincbarcika

Haladás VSE (green/white) - another "trainman" squad in Szombathely, usually they are the jumpers between 1st and 2nd class. There used to be an ETO - Haladás friendship in the past, we both hate Zalaegerszegi TE, but they are in second class now, muhahahaha. Okay, the Haladás - Zalaegerszeg rivalism is a lot deeper (deadly enemies).

Eger (shame on me, I don't know their team colors) - poor and weak newbies (destination at the end of the season is second class again), but the city is nice.

Pécsi MFC (red/black) - another nice city with not so characteristic team, I like them anyway

Paks (green/white), Lombard Pápa (?), Kaposvár (green/white), Siófok (erm... yellow/blue?), Kecskemét (purple/white) - listfillers in my eyes

BonzaiJoe

Well, that was interesting to read about :-) It's just that none of the teams sound very sympathetic. ETO and MTK sound neutral. You know how much I despise Fidesz, so from now on I'm going to hate Debrecen as well as FC Féhervar (who I am also going to annoy by not calling them Videoton).

I'll write about Danish football clubs also, if anyone's interested...
But we can't be quite sure.

Do it! (Brondby is my favorite there)

Brøndby... hmmm :-)

Well, so in Denmark, we have

FC København, a.k.a. FCK (white) - the biggest team with the most money, situated in central Copenhagen. I would say the Ferencváros of Denmark, but the club is from 1994, when there was a merger between KB (the first football club in Denmark) and other local club B1903. This team has a reputation of being 'corporate' and arrogant, but they have been the best team in Denmark for many years, even though they missed the championship last year (by 1 point).
Enemies: Brøndby, AGF

Brøndby: (yellow/blue) traditionally big club with some impressive results in the 90's. They have been bleeding since the middle of the 00's and are currently in danger of being relegated to the 2nd division for the first time since 1985. This is the 'working class' club, located in suburban Copenhagen. Matches between Brøndby and FCK are called 'new firm' because for a while in the 00's, Brøndby and FCK were about equally strong and better than the rest. FCK and AGF also have crazy hooligans, but Brøndby's are just a little crazier. They also have the best fans in the league. Breeding ground of the best Danish players: Peter Schmeichel, Michael Laudrup, Brian Laudrup and current star Michael Krohn-Dehli.
Enemies: FCK, AGF

AGF: (white/blue) my team, from Aarhus. The oldest (still existing) team in Denmark, dating from 1880. AGF is a very proud club with history and traditions, but the fact is that we have sucked since 1997. Maybe we are a bit too proud, thinking we don't need to work hard to beat the others. Known for some nazi fans, but really there aren't so many. Second best and most faithful fans in the country, after Brøndby's. Even when we were in the 2nd division, there was a high attendance.
Enemies: Brøndby, FCK, FC Midtjylland, AaB, Randers

AaB (red/white, stripes) from Aalborg in northern Jutland. Consistently strong club with a decent CL performance in 2008. Also a respectable and old club. I can't like them because they're competitors of AGF, but I respect them.
Enemies: AGF, OB

OB (blue/white, stripes) from Odense. The last of the five 'real football clubs' in Denmark. They have delivered consistently strong results, until last year. Eliminated Real Madrid from the Champions' Cup in 1994.
Enemies: FCK, AaB

FC Midtjylland, a.k.a. 'the wolves'. New club, from Herning/Ikast, central Jutland (club name means 'central Jutland') (black/red). Founded in 1999 by a merger of Herning and Ikast.  Even though they have only worn their black and red outfits for 13 years (unlike KB and B1903, Herning and Ikast were small clubs with very few fans before the merger), they feel very high and mighty because they nearly always finish near the top of the league. This is the 'peasant' club of Denmark.
Enemies: AGF, Randers

FC Nordsjælland, (deep red) from a small town called Farum, 20 km north of Copenhagen. Finally some politics here. This club was brought out of obscurity around 2000 by a the right-wing mayor of Farum, Peter Brixtofte, who was then jailed for fraud (basically spending ridiculous amounts of taxpayer money on very expensive wine). After being a weak team for almost 10 years, they suddenly got good. They now have a strong squad with many marginal national team players, and last year they managed to win the championship, which means that because of FCK's performances in recent years, they qualified directly to Champions' League.
They suddenly have many fans now, but when I saw them in Aarhus in 2006, there were exactly two FC Nordsjælland fans present.
Enemies: Lyngby

AC Horsens (yellow), traditionally a crap club that nobody's heard of, suddenly they have emerged to the best league, at the same time as Horsens authorities are trying to brand the (small, uninteresting) city by presenting huge music names (U2, Madonna, Depeche Mode and Bob Dylan played there recently).
Enemies: Vejle, AGF

Lyngby (blue): old and once great club from the Copenhagen area, currently an 'elevator team', going up and down between 1st and 2nd league. Enemies: FC Nordsjælland.

Randers (bright blue): the ones I hate the most. From Randers, close to Aarhus, but with no history or tradition. Entered the 1st league (Superliga) some time in the 00's and suddenly got some fans. Terribly cocky, in the same way as FC Midtjylland.
Enemies: AGF, AaB

SønderjyskE (bright blue like Manchester City): small club from southern Jutland with few fans, known for playing very defensive football.

Silkeborg (red/white): reasonably respectably team from central Jutland.

Esbjerg (blue/white, stripes): boring team from western Jutland, but it's okay that they're there because it's the 5th largest city in the country. This is the 'fisherman' football club of Denmark.

But we can't be quite sure.
