So, the Hungarian team still has a chance to win gold?

Looks like we just got our first silver medal up here - at Skeet Shooting. I hardly knew that existed. But here we go.
But we can't be quite sure.

4 team advances from the group and 2 teams are beatable to say the least, so we'll reach the playoff round, so there is still a chance for the gold medal. I thought we might beat one of the big teams in the first two matches, well, we couldn't. It's still not a problem, we have to find top form not at the group stage, rather for the playoff. Btw we can still reach 2nd place in the group, since USA beat Montenegro (surprise). I only hope that we can avoid playing Croatia in the quarter final.

The female water polo team started with a one-goal loss against big favourite USA - that is also not bad, though not good, either, since 0 point for this in the group. But promising.

I was very sad after the DEN-HUN handball game, we didn't deserve a loss... Today we edged South Korea with good play in the last 15 minutes. The key game will be against Serbia and/or Spain. I hope we can advance from the group.

Gyurta is great in swimming, I hope they can win the gold medal (200m breaststroke). Katinka Hosszú, 4th place in 400m medley, might hope for a bronze medal, since the Chinese girl ahead of her is blamed for doping. It is good to see the 4x200m freestyle team in the final (men). Cseh is awful, and Biczó was also better in the Budapest ECH...

I guess "she" has more testosterone in "her" vessels than any of us at this forum. Word-class Chinese swimmers appear too fast, but usually they disappear even faster (steroids are harmful! :D ).

Predictions for 200 m breaststroke: Gyurta changed his tactics lately, pushing harder the first 100 m, so he won't be able to bring his usual final attack. I think we will see Kitajima and the two GBR swimmers on the podium (winner ~2:07.50, all of them under 2:08.00), Gyurta will finish only 4th (~2:08.20).

Btw I was sooooooooo happy to see Phelps losing by worse touch at the wall (200 m butterfly). ;D

"She" swam the last 50 metres faster than Ryan Lochte, gold medallist of the same event (400m medley) for men... Chinese say it is nothing special, we should accept this... Olympic Committee too...

It is possible that she and other Chinese swimmers are doped, but we should remember that it's much more likely that Chinese swimmers can produce exceptional results without doping than, for example, American swimmers or Australian swimmers. This is because in China, the authorities have scouts whose job is to find kids with unusual talents for certain sports, and then haul these kids into training camps from a very early age. The parents' consent is required of course, but usually it's a formality because it is very honorable for them to have a chance to represent their country - and because there is a chance of economic gain. In America or Australia, only those people start swimming who "feel like it", and the talents can only be found among those.
But we can't be quite sure.

But then why are they so crappy in football, ice hockey, baseball, car racing, etc.? Because it would be really hard to cheat in them. They cheat with the age of gymnast girls and dope their swimmers heavily. The only sport I believe they are really good in is the table tennis.

It is a known fact that swimmers usually dope and if they're good enough for the business, the committee (or whoever controls that)  looks the other way. It is also very weird that a guy that won everything 4 years ago didn't win anything now...
Yes, it is me. No, I'm not back at racing (for now...)

Four years ago Phelps said he eats a lot of pasta and that's the reason of his great performance (probably he tried kidding). Maybe he ran out of spagetti... ;D

It is again interesting that it can only be done with women... China has only good female athletes, like GDR had some decades ago. Medicine can transform women to men, and it is efficient, maybe we won't hear from them after their sport career, or at least not as women... To train a good male athlete, you need more talent instead of gender transforming medicine. (The same for training a good water polo player...)

Once again, this Chinese geek swam faster than men's top swimmer Ryan Lochte at the same circumstances... That is biologically an impossible thing.

Football: because it's so unbelievably big in other parts of the world and everybody plays it, that you can't just make a world-class team like that. Football culture is quite small in China. If it gets a lot bigger, they will get better.
Ice hockey: I'm not sure there even is an Ice Hockey rink anywhere in China. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard about it.
Baseball: because nobody gives a fùck about baseball.
Car racing: because this is not about talent, but about equipment, technical skill and practice. China has never had a car industry, unlike Japan, Germany and USA. Ordinary people only began to drive cars in the 1970's, and many places in the country they still don't. It is possible that they will be good in the distant future, but not any time soon.
The gymnast age thing was a total joke. It wasn't true, and if it had been, what the fúck would that have helped, that their gymnasts were only 13 years old instead of 16? Then their opponents must just have sucked even more.

The reason why this pisses me off is because it's incredibly racist of you to say the things you are saying. With China being the most populous country in the world and having the toughest and biggest training programs, why would they not be the best in the world (with or without doping)? Please answer this.

Now, North Korea winning gold in women's weightlifting, that seems a bit more suspect. When I heard that North Korea had won gold medals, I immediately thought "it must be weightlifting".

Exactly the same story, see my previous post. Another communist, uncontrollable country with good lobby.
