I've changed from 1-1 to ENG victory (2-1) in the very last minute (10 seconds before the start). I hope it won't be a bad decision.

bye-bye, England ;D

(Alan, Chulk: are you happy to see England sucking? I guess you feel the same about England as we feel about Romania)

alanrotoi

It must be similar in some ways and different in other.
Yes I like to see England sucking everywhere :D
In fact, Uruguay exists as a country thanks to England (mostly). The most similar country of Argentina is Uruguay, we have the same culture, we are almost the same. Also we were the same country http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Provinces_of_the_R%C3%ADo_de_la_Plata

PIRATES GO HOME!!

Overrated, I'd say. Uruguay (hopefully with Suárez) v. England in a fight for survival should be a cracker though!

Maybe Sterling and Sturridge will accidently set Suárez up for a great goal.

Or Gerrard... ::)

BonzaiJoe

Wow, Japan sucks. We will definitely have an African team in the next round.
But we can't be quite sure.

Not me. I like to see them sucking, but because (as I said somewhere before) I tend to dislike overrated teams/players. And everyone considering England a good team (just because the invented this sport) makes me hate them. The same goes for Portugal and Spain these last few years.
Besides, I don't mix politics and football and I couldn't care less about Malvinas/Falkland conflict.

Footballisticly (I think I just invented that word) I hate Mexico, Brazil (no surprise here), Chile (they make fun of us when we lose without having earned their right to do it by winning something) and Italy. I have a hard time hating Germany because their style suits my like most of the times (same thing happens with Brazilian volleyball NT).
Apart from Argentina, I support most SA countries (specially Bolivia because my family is strongly connected to it), Russia, Czech Rep, The Netherlands, Japan, Nigeria and Ghana.
Yes, it is me. No, I'm not back at racing (for now...)

Today:

Italy - Costa Rica: even if the Latin Americans caused a big surprise in the first round, the opponent is a classic strong team with hardcore defense. Confident Italian victory is expected, but not a whitewash.

Switzerland - France: boring draw (0-0 or 1-1 with at least one penalty).

Honduras - Ecuador: I have no clue, maybe Ecuador is stronger. A single goal will decide for them.

What a tight mini-league! It really shows how random the results are...

Good for you, but I can't separate them. Romania is a gipsy leprosarium, therefore their sport teams are subjected to the same consideration.

BonzaiJoe

I can't separate them either. That's why I put Russia in the bottom of the list. It's also a big part of the reason for Honduras' low ranking.

Were you drunk while writing your last post, Chulk? I liked it :-) Glad you don't care about the Falklands/Malvinas conflict.
But we can't be quite sure.

BonzaiJoe

Let's simulate, judging by strength shown so far in the tournament...

Last 16:

Brazil vs Chile
Colombia vs Uruguay
France vs Bosnia
Germany vs Russia
Netherlands vs Mexico
Italy vs Ivory Coast
Argentina vs Switzerland
Belgium vs Portugal

QFs:

Brazil vs Colombia
France vs Germany
Netherlands vs Italy
Argentina vs Portugal

Semis:

Brazil vs Germany
Italy vs Argentina

Final:

Germany vs Italy

Looks like Germany is going to win this time.
But we can't be quite sure.

BonzaiJoe

Oops :-)

The Costa Rica situation is interesting because it means Colombia should be interested in losing the last match and hoping Ivory Coast takes 1st place and plays Italy. But of course Ivory Coast can secure 2nd place with a draw. However, if Ivory Coast somehow loses vs Greece, that's Japan's chance to take 2nd place. But then again, Colombia will probably have to score own goals if they want to lose.....

Maybe Costa Rica is really the strongest team in group D. Maybe they will go to the quarter finals and play Netherlands.
But we can't be quite sure.
