Today:

Argentina - Iran: FC Messi will demolish the terrorists.

Germany - Ghana: Nationalelf is clearly better than the Africans. Confident victory by 2 or 3 goals.

Nigeria - Bosnia: boring draw.

Today:

Italy - Costa Rica: even if the Latin Americans caused a big surprise in the first round, the opponent is a classic strong team with hardcore defense. Confident Italian victory is expected, but not a whitewash.

Switzerland - France: boring draw (0-0 or 1-1 with at least one penalty).

Crappy predictions. Costa Rica seems to be a huge surprise of the tournament. The other match... well... it's better not to evaluate the difference between "boring 0-0/1-1" and a goal festival. At least the penalty was there.

Although I like Suarez and Barcelona, I hope the uruguayan won't play in Nou Camp. It would be a bad decision, as his style doesn't really fit in Barcelona's gameplay. And everybody knows what happens to forwards, playing together with Messi (see Ibrahimovic and Villa).

Somebody please tell the Iranians that they play a football match instead of kickbox.

Argentina: WTF?  :( You're playing even worse than Spain and England. It's a good thing you have the easiest group.
But we can't be quite sure.

Dear Argentinians, are you trying to be more underwhelming than Brazil? I'm afraid the only way we can outdo you now is by losing to Cameroon and failing to qualify...

Iran was killing the game in the first half, but they could grow up in the second. A lucky shot at the end - Argentina did not deserve the victory...

Btw Rojo is a weak link in Argentina.

Well, after taking the undeserved lead with the major help of the refs, Nigeria is playing well, like a mature team. I don't think that this is a weak group anymore. Even Iran played very well today.

Btw Rojo is a weak link in Argentina.
He usually is but he's one of the 3 players that I consider to have an acceptable cup so far: Romero, Rojo and Zabaleta.
Romero: He was always in doubt (and he gave us enough motives to do so) but he's in good shape now, stoping important shots.
Rojo: I think he is a good Center back, but a crappy Left back mainly because he doesn't have a clue about what to do on the offensive. But though he's crossing the ball to no man's land in the offensive end, he's pretty solid on defense, taking into account the midfielder playing his side (Di Maria) doesn't help him.
Zabaleta: Same as Rojo. Good defense, not so good attack. He covered Fernandez back in more than one ocassion today: the header Romero managed to hit over the bar, for example, where he was close enough to the Iranian forward to avoid a confortable shot.

Higuain is not playing his best, but he's finding his shape after an injury.
Messi is still far from top form, but he still managed to secure 2 wins in 2 moments of inspiration.

Yes, it is me. No, I'm not back at racing (for now...)

Go Belgium! Teach those morose nationalistic war-mongers a lesson on cultural integration and international cooperation.
But we can't be quite sure.
