New thread for the guest tracks! (see 2024 (https://forum.stunts.hu/index.php?topic=4205.0))
Want to design a competition track? Book your race below.Tracks for the competition are designed by its participants. If you have an idea for a track and would like to contribute, just choose an available month below!
Some notes about the calendar this year. The dates in the list below are submission dates, following the procedure set by
@dreadnaut last year in which tracks should be sent one week before the race start, to make sure there's time to catch any pitfalls. I'm assuming the season will start on 12 Jan. The calendar might have to be shifted one week forward; we'll let you know if that happens. For the first race, since the planned submission date is four days from now, some extra leeway will presumably make sense.
* If you aren't on the calendar yet and would like to have the ZCT290 slot, just let us know (https://forum.stunts.hu/index.php?msg=97679)!
ZCT 288, please
I'll pick ZCT285! :D
ZCT286 for me, please
I have a nice drive through the park that is currently very pretty but entirely untested as a track, I feel like that could be a good match for 287.
I'll pick zct290 :)
Five entries already! Thanks everyone, calendar updated :)
I close the gap and take ZCT289 please.
I can take the ZCT292
Updated, thanks!
Do we have a track for January already? Somebody? We start in few days :D
As I mentioned in another thread, I would like a double-blind voting process. If that isn't feasible, I would like to get February or March. :)
I picked the one I picked and I'm happy with it, but I am totally open to voting instead if you guys want to
Quote from: Argammon on January 07, 2025, 04:27:30 PMIf that isn't feasible, I would like to get February or March. :)
Conditionally added to the schedule ;)
Any offers for the January track?
As I told
@Duplode my track is already ready, and I can offer it as an "emergency" solution. Otherwise, you may want to start the year with a retro track. :)
Quote from: dreadnaut on January 12, 2025, 05:55:39 PMAny offers for the January track?
While I have a couple track ideas to work with, if we're starting today (and not on the 19th) I won't be able to get them ready in a timely way.
@Argammon 's offer looks like a better one if we need an emergency solution.
@Argammon, if you are OK with it let's start with yours!
Ok, I will send it to you and Duplode.
Edit: Sent! :)
Nobody will take z284? I could also take it if you need
@dreadnaut
I can take ZCT283 -- while I don't have it ready, I'll have enough free time over the next few days to work on a design.
@alanrotoi On ZCT284, maybe we can wait a week more or so to see if anyone not yet in the calendar will volunteer?
Quote from: Duplode on January 30, 2025, 10:22:38 PM@alanrotoi On ZCT284, maybe we can wait a week more or so to see if anyone not yet in the calendar will volunteer?
Of course! I would like to see a track from
@Stein Viterbo or
@Mark Nailwood or
@Zapper or @Ryoma or
@Spoonboy
If necessary, I can take a second one too, but let's see if other folks want to do it
Quick update on ZCT283: I currently have two sketches unrelated to each other. I'm not satisfied with any of them right now, but something is going to come out of it -- hopefully within this evening, as I'm already late ::)

Forget about dual-way, it's time for dual-track racing!

I wonder about the car bonuses. ::)

In the end, at least I did stick with one of the drafts, as opposed to discard them both :D (I still hope to turn the other one into a viable competition track someday...)

I won't mess too much with them, as you'll see shortly ;)
If somebody without a track wants to build next track please rise your hand. If not I'll build it. Anybody?
Let's update the calendar, then, with
@alanrotoi (thanks!) now on ZCT284. ZCT291 and ZCT293 remain available!
If nobody else will take it, you can book me on 291 as well
@Cas Noted, thanks! Though again, we might wait a little longer to see if anyone not yet on the calendar wants to join. (In particular,
@HerrNove mentioned elsewhere he might want to.)
This year I'll be happy to just race :)
I have a nice track concept in mind but it might be more appropriate for R4K. The basic sketch has no loops/ramps/hills because they do not fit the theme (also no splits but this could change), so it seems suitable for clean and precise driving but not for the usual jump shenanigans and tricks that the pros seem to like.
The theme, by the way, has curiously nothing to do with Herr Partz' preferences! But I'll leave it as a surprise for now...

Sounds nice! And yes, OWOOT track design can be a rather distinct affair -- but one that's no less interesting :)
As far as I remember https://zak.stunts.hu/tracks/ZCT159 was the only track built originally for OWOOT rules.
@HerrNove - You can post here: https://forum.stunts.hu/index.php?topic=4392.msg96529#new and we'll see to un-reserve a slot that you can use
I'll take 291, while 293 should go to
@CTG this year!

Thanks thanks! I think, if enough veterans want to contribute a track for this year I'd prefer not to take places away from them with a track that will probably contain some beginner's mistakes (especially since everyone will have to race for many weeks on it). I first want to experiment with the track editing tools, and check if I'm satisfied with what will come out of my plan. But it might not happen soon, too many open projects already. Anyway thanks for the offer, I'll sure send a track, maybe for the next year.
Happy to leave you my place, I was only trying to fill the list :) Autumn should be far enough in the future, for you to experiment at your leisure!

There are also ZCT166 (4AM) (https://zak.stunts.hu/tracks/ZCT166) and ZCT188 (AbuRaf's Boulevard) (https://zak.stunts.hu/tracks/ZCT188), which were originally submitted to the WSC track design contest in 2006.
@HerrNove - In R4K, we had offered slots on half the races of the year, so the other half is still reserved for Mark and me as administrators. We can easily squeeze one more there if you feel like posting a track this year. Anyway, you have most of the year to think about it and let us know!
Updating the calendar with
@dreadnaut at ZCT291. 11/12 ;)
November track (zct293) is still available!
@HerrNove @Mortimer Macmire @MiDiaN @Spoonboy @afullo @dstien @Stingray @Chulk @Akoss Poo a.k.a. Zorromeister @CTG @Marco @Mark Nailwood @KyLiE ....... etc. Also I signed for zct290 but I already built a track this year so I can let the place to another one without a track.
If no one else want's to, I can give zct293 a try. The only problem is that the last track I made was in the 90's and I was around 10 years old, so you can see that the lack of experience can be a bit of a problem.
Unless we want a track where the winner is the person who can launch the car the highest in the air. I remember that that was my area of expertise in creating tracks in those times ;) !
Great! Then it's yours! :D Probably I'm the most strict about tracks around here but it's more important if most people participate. We find different styles in diversity.
So we have only one place left (ZCT290)
Thanks
@alanrotoi , just started building the terrain around a idea I have. I think you are all gonna like or even recognize the overlapping theme. Now hopefully I can also make the track somewhat exciting, but I guess I still have few months to develop my track building skills ;) !

Awesome, thanks Mortimer! Calendar updated :)
@stanceboyCZ, as you can read in the last few posts I've opted to create the ZCT293 since no one else volunteered yet.
Since you seem te be more invested (and more experienced) in creating tracks I'm willing to give up my place to you if you are interested in creating a ZackStunts track. If not I'll create a track myself.
Maybe it's also an option (again, if you are interested) that you take over Alan's spot for the ZCT290 race since that would be his second track this year.
i'm not sure if i am an expert, i mean i was a bit addicted to Stunts and creating the maps for fun. But i'm glad you wanna one of my tracks for future competitions.
(https://media.tenor.com/ZaxUeXcUtDkAAAAM/shrug-smug.gif)
Feel free to choose one of them for future competitions ;)

@stanceboyCZ You don't really have to be an expert. We have a wide variety of track designs every year. You could check those maps to be inspired. Also, there are some "unwritten rules" in zakstunts like (please help me everybody) a not so short and not so long track (from 40 seconds to 2 minutes aproximately). Remember it is a monthly race so the track could have some stunts to make it interesting and keep pipsqueaks on track. As said, check what others do here and it will be fine.
