Three old friend making some music for their own fun: http://www.boehm-kalpen-maass.de This year we'll perform our first gig with this band (we already did, having another band then, back in 1989 - 1990 )
Due to several time problem in real life (I'm often away for business reasons and my music projects take much time, too, as well as I love my real life social contacts) Stunts at kalpen.de is being uncared for... so I'll reduce this year's contest to only three tracks, last of which will be published around end of September/beginning of October.
Hi Oliver, first of all, I am honored that people in the Stunts community still seem to know me. My Stunts page at: http://n.ethz.ch/student/loehrerl/4dsports.html will soon disappear, because I am losing the hosting at my former University. If you or someone in the Stunts community you know is interested in keeping some of my stuff available, you are invited to grab what you want and add it to your own site. Thanks and best regards, Lukas
So of course - because I couldn't stand having this site offline - I asked him to send me all the rest of his site what he did, now it's here to be seen originally: http://www.kalpen.de/luke.
my provider just called me and told me, that he'll end his business by the end of May, which really made me a lot. Now I requested another company to host kalpen.de, which they will do soon. That, of course, takes some time (because they have to get my domain from my old provider and so on...). and may lead to some inconvenience. So please note:
As long as you can see our pages, we're there and accessible
When you do not see our pages anymore, please be patient: We hope to get the whole changes done in one day, it may take up to three days in worse case
E-mails may get lost in that time! If you're not sure and there's no answer from us, please try firstname.lastname@example.org, which I take a look at at least twice a week.
Of course we will inform you when all changes are finished!
I really hope that it takes about two hours and then all pages and the e-mails shall work again, but you never know...
I got this e-mail today and I thought it was so interesting, that I wanted to share it with all of you! -- JTK
Wow.... I didnt know that Broderbund had agreed to the FreeWare status for 4D Sports Driving!
I was hoping to point out that there are *4* origital versions of the game.... * Broderbund Stunts 1.0 (Oct 05 1990) * Broderbund Stunts 1.1 (Feb 12 1991) * Mindscape 4D Sports Driving 1.1 (Dec 13 1990) * Mindscape 4D Sports Driving 1.1 (Feb 25 1991)
Notice that using the version number is not sufficient)...
Each has its own bugs/differences... The Dec 13 1990 version crashed when using keyboard t move cursor in certain ways in track editor screen iirc...
The first 3 versions are easily found....
I have NOT been able to acquire the last version (Feb 25 1991) which has this annoyance fixed (at least), w/ other potential changes/updates... particuarly as it was the last 'release'.
I was hoping you might be able te help w/ a concerted effort to get hold of the last version.. maybe put a request on your web-page?
Seme people definitely have had that last version -- e.g. creating 'crack' loader-tsr that works on all 4 versions -- saw that somewhere....
I had the dec 13 1990 version of the game... years ago... And I had a dody crack TSR that patched something like INT 10 the game called.... but didnt check what it was patching sufficently.. it would often crash under QEMM386 etc. due to mistaking the INT 10 call for somewhere it shouldnt be doing the crack.... It did some dodgy hack like scanning every segment to find the right place to apply the patch... and it ontly looked for a word (16 bytes).... result being it would easily do it at the wrong time/place and crash the system....
I might be helpful and update wikipedia article about the game too w.r.t. versions of the game ;-).
Comments wanted please ;-)
--Mysterious "enyc" <email@example.com> actually form UK/england ;-).
The Babel fish is small, yellow and leech-like, and probably the oddest thing in the Universe. It feeds on brainwave energy recieved not from its own carrier but from those around it, It absorbs all unconscious mental frequencies from this brainwave energy to nourish itself with. the practical upshot of this is that if you stick a Babel fish in your ear you can instantly understand anything said to you in any language.
Now it is such a bizarrely improbable coincidence that anhthing so mind-bogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see as a final and clinching proof of the non-existence of God. The argument goes like this : "I refuse to prove that I exist", says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But", says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear", says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
"Oh that was easy" says Man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed on the next zebra crossing.
...aaaaaaaaaaaaand there it is: ctr2006d.trk. Made in Budapest at Zak's on his machines, but I promise noone had the cahnce to race it there! So I hope you'll have fun and that Krys will succeed in that one damned jump...
