France Stunts Championship / FSC5 - PAU - december 2025
December 03, 2025, 09:26:06 PM
Hey everyone,

I've just finished putting together a brand-new track and I wanted to share it with you all. It's a kind of tribute to the old Formula 3000 days at the Pau Grand Prix, mixed with a climb toward the Col d'Aubisque — but done the Stunts way.

The layout is tight where it needs to be, open where it counts, and just tricky enough to keep things interesting. Water crossings and long tunnels make sure the run never becomes completely free-style... but they still leave enough room for creativity if you want to take risks. It's one of those circuits where you constantly ask yourself: "Am I playing safe, or am I going for glory?"

I'd really like to know what you think
Will you join the race? Rules are FREE.
Are you taking part in this month's challenge, or will the mountain roads, hidden shortcuts, and tunnel dives scare you away?

Drop a message if you're in. I'd love to see how far you can push this one past Stunts oracle time at 02:04.75.

See you on track! 🏁

Hello everyone,

TL;DR: I'm drafting here an idea I'm maturing as a one man band, but aimed towards a community project: The Stunts live race world cup.

1. Goals

Ensure fair competition regardless of available training time.

Highlight the "live" spirit of Stunts: precision, quick strategy, pressure management.

Create a global format bringing together players from multiple time zones.

2. Competition Structure
Phase 1: Conference Qualifiers

Conferences:

🌎 The Americas

🌍 The Old Continent (Europe, Africa)

🌏 Oceania / Asia-Pacific

Each conference hosts one live race on the same track, but scheduled for local convenience.

Top 3 from each conference advance to the Grand Final.

Phase 2: Grand Universal Final

The 9 qualified drivers face off live on a brand-new track.

Results → determine the Top 3 of the Universe.

3. Race Formats possibilities

a) Live Classic Race

Track remains undisclosed until the start.

Duration: 12 minutes (max 15 for exceptional tracks).

Goal: as many laps as possible → best lap time counts.

b) Live Rally / Endurance

Track is revealed 7 days in advance.

Single lap, lasting 6–9 minutes.

Live duration: up to 15 minutes (1–2 attempts).

4. Practical Organization

Sign-up: each player registers in one conference (based on time zone or availability).

Track distribution: each pipsqueak receives a unique QR code (drawn with map buildings) to prevent file sharing.

Timer:

A countdown starts automatically upon download.

Replay (RPL) must be submitted before the countdown expires (12 or 15 minutes).

Referees: each conference must have at least 2 referees (one main + one backup).

5. Scoring

Ranking is based on best lap time.

In case of a tie → 2nd-best lap decides.

Suggested scoring per conference:

1st = 10 pts

2nd = 6 pts

3rd = 4 pts

4th+ = listed in the results but no points.

The Final is decided only by performance (no point carry-over).

6. Fair Play & Ethics

🚫 No secret training or early access to the track file.

Replay Handling (RH) allowed / GAR non directive trust based rule.

✅ Drivers may share emotions and impressions live (chat, stream), but no exact lines or tricks during the race.

7. Communication & Broadcasting

Each conference may organize its live session on YouTube or Twitch.

All RPL files will be archived and published on the official page.

A highlight video of the three conferences and the final will be produced.

I'll share a link to measure the volunteering level. Every answer could help taste the water on the topic.

Thank you for taking part, there's still 5 days and 12 hours left! OWOOT rules, no RH please.

Monthly trophies still to grab:

🏆 🔮 Faster than Stunts Oracle!

🏆 ⚡ Faster than yourself (like Muhammad Ali)

🏆 🛠 The Grinder

🏆 💪 The Super Grinder

🏆 ♾️⚡ Faster than yourself — Permanently (Community)

Congratulations to @Victor Narl for being the first to unlock them all!

Competition will stop on Sunday evening (no quiet replays), and a new track will be released:

FSC2 - MARRAKECH - september 2025

Let's go deeper in this Morocco tour, next to the Atlas mountains.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The essence of Stunts, the iconic racing game by Broderbund, lies in its blend of precision, strategy, and skill. It challenges players to master the art of driving, balancing speed with control, and navigating complex tracks with finesse. However, the integrity of this experience is undermined when pilots exploit the game's mechanics by spending excessive time off the track, transforming what should be a test of driving prowess into a loophole-driven shortcut to victory.

1. Preserving the Spirit of Competition
Stunts is, at its core, a racing game. The thrill of competition is rooted in the ability to outmaneuver opponents on the track, not in finding ways to bypass it. Allowing pilots to leave the track for more than 50% of the replay time distorts the game's intended challenge. It shifts the focus from skillful driving to exploiting glitches or unintended mechanics, eroding the fairness that defines competitive play. By limiting off-track time to 50%, we ensure that victory is earned through mastery of the game's design, not by circumventing it.

2. Encouraging Skill Development
When pilots are restricted to spending no more than half their time off the track, they are incentivized to hone their driving skills. Players must learn to navigate obstacles, optimize their racing lines, and make split-second decisions—skills that are central to the game's appeal. This rule fosters a community of players who value improvement and innovation within the boundaries of the game, rather than those who seek to exploit its limitations.

3. Enhancing Replay Value
Replays in Stunts are not just a record of a race; they are a testament to a player's ability to conquer the track. Excessive off-track driving turns replays into chaotic, unintended spectacles, detracting from the satisfaction of a well-executed race. By enforcing a 50% limit, replays become a true reflection of skill, strategy, and creativity, making them more enjoyable to watch and share.

4. Promoting Fair Play
Fairness is the cornerstone of any competitive environment. Unrestricted off-track driving creates an uneven playing field, where some players gain an unfair advantage by abusing mechanics that were never intended to be part of the core gameplay (PG? "it's a bug", said Kevin Pickell himself, Stunts lead programmer). A 50% limit levels the field, ensuring that all players compete under the same constraints and that success is determined by talent and practice, not by who can best exploit the game's quirks.

5. Respecting the Game's Legacy
Stunts is a classic, beloved for its innovative gameplay and challenging tracks. Allowing pilots to spend the majority of their time off the track undermines the legacy of the game, reducing it to a contest of who can break the rules most effectively. By upholding a 50% limit, we honor the game's original vision and maintain its status as a timeless test of driving skill.

6. Community Consensus
The Stunts community thrives on shared standards and mutual respect. Most players agree that excessive off-track driving detracts from the game's enjoyment and fairness. Implementing a 50% limit aligns with the values of the community, fostering a more positive and competitive environment for everyone.

Conclusion
To preserve the integrity, skill, and spirit of Stunts, it is essential to limit off-track driving to no more than 50% of the replay time. This rule upholds the game's intended challenge, promotes fair play, and ensures that Stunts remains a celebration of driving mastery. Let us commit to this standard, so that every race is a true test of skill—and every victory, a genuine achievement.

Thank you.

Doing the homeworks to build rock-bottom solid trust for the community:

First, in this post, I'll present 6 points of critical vulnerabilities.

1) Open-source recon (nothing illegal)

The attacker maps the public site: rules, track pages, recent replays lists, upload form. Public pages confirm that replay packs/replays exist and hint at when/where publication happens.

Risk (general): if some replays are published live (or the site announces when they'll go public), rivals know where and when to watch.

2) Indirect enumeration

Without "forcing" anything, the attacker watches what the UI exposes:

"Download replay" links on past/current tracks.

Pages listing recent replays (including mobile/light views).

Risk (general): if "not-supposed-to-be-public" replays are listed because of a visibility bug (bad public/private flag), they become retrievable—no trickery needed.

3) Logic flaws around "quiet days / visibility"

Competitions often have a "hide my time" mode. If the implementation has a logic bug (e.g., a direct link that isn't re-checked server-side, or a visibility parameter that's only client-side), a "hidden" replay may still be downloadable via an old link, a guessable URL, or a mirrored/cached page. (This is a design risk, not a claim about any specific site.)

Risk: a discreet leak of RPLs during the race—enough to copy lines and pacing.

4) Webroot storage & predictable names

If .rpl files live under a web-accessible folder and have guessable names (increments, timestamps), then:

Someone may stumble onto them via referrers, proxy caches, or a copy-pasted partial URL.

A bot could index a pack that's already public with rich metadata (driver, track, car) and make it discoverable.

Risk: "accidental" exfiltration (referrers, indexing, mirrors), even without malicious intent.

5) Leaks via headers or caches

Without proper headers (Cache-Control, Content-Disposition, Referrer-Policy), a private replay that passes through a CDN/proxy or a third-party site can leave downloadable traces (temporary copies, request logs, referrers exposing paths).

Risk: persistent copies outside your control.

6) Admin/backup leakage

Backups (DB/zips) left under webroot, unprotected admin pages, protected and compromised admin features, or an auto-generated "replay pack" export that isn't locked down can expose all RPLs for a month in a single request.

Risk: mass compromise in one shot.

The next post will discuss how to -hopefully- fix that.

🏆 Trials of Stunts Valhalla — Earn your runes, one lap at a time!🏆

TL;DR → In the halls of Stunts Valhalla, the Oracle watches every lap and the Valkyries carry your .RPLs to the scoreboard. Our new Trophies reward improvement, participation, and consistency — perfect for newcomers and casual drivers. 🏁

Trophies page on France Stunts 2025

What are "Trophies"?
Think of them as Trials of Valhalla: bite-sized challenges checked automatically on the site. Some are monthly trials, others are permanent quests. Unlock one and your name is etched in the Hall of Time.

Why try them?
  • Accessible to everyone — You battle your past self, not the world's demigods.
  • Quick inspiration — Ten minutes is enough for a fresh rune on your board.
  • Your style, your steed — Auto or manual, any car; pick your warhorse and ride.
  • Community spirit — Friendly rivalries, shared ghosts, cheering Valkyries.

Examples you can unlock
  • Faster than Stunts Oracle! (Monthly) — Improve your PB five times in a row on the Month Track during the current moon. Prove the Oracle wrong.
  • Faster than Yourself on the month track and — Permanently (on Community Tracks) — Choose one Community Track and beat your PB five times on that same road. No time limit; a gentle quest for occasional riders.
  • Grinder & Super Grinder — For the relentless: keep lapping across tracks and let the runes add up.
More themed trials are on the anvil — bring your ideas to drop the hammer down in the Valhalla forge!

How to take the Trial
  • Pick a battleground: the Month Track or a Community Track.
  • Race in Stunts and save your replay (.RPL).
  • Upload the .RPL on the site (Month or Community form). The Valkyries will carry it in.
  • Watch the live scoreboard. If a trial condition is met, your rune appears shortly after.

Casual drivers, this is your hall
You don't need a world record to earn glory. Set a baseline, chip away when you have a moment, and let the Oracle witness your growth. The Faster than Yourself — Permanently (Community) trial is designed for relaxed progress on one favorite track.

FAQ
QuoteDo Community Track replays count for trophies?
Some trials bind to the Month Track; others (like Faster than Yourself — Permanently (Community)) are forged for Community Tracks. Check each description on the site.
QuoteIf I upload the same time again, does it count?
No. Improvement trials only register when you beat your own previous best — the runes don't lie.
QuoteWhen are trophies awarded?
Shortly after your upload, once the Valkyries deliver it to the Hall.
QuoteI'm new — can I still earn something?
Absolutely. Many trials reward learning and steady progress. Your early PBs already wake the horns of Valhalla.

Ready?
Grab the Month Track, post your first lap, and chase your ghost through the gates of Valhalla. Tell us which trial you're aiming for next — and share tips for the new warriors. See you on the leaderboard! ✨

The project is a proof of concept for a 3D design tool for dummies inspired by Ryoma and called : C.A.R.S. Conception Assistée de Rendu de Surfaces.

It's happening. Here's version 0.23 of the car body

And here's the tool that allowed to design the car body in 2 hours. One hour for entering the vertices coordinates, and another hour fiddling on stressed and carworks. 251 vertices, under the 255 limit.

Version 0.41 of C.A.R.S. for dummies was stable enough to prove it can help designing 3D shapes with point and click and much less hassle than by hand. I'll keep on pushing the project until alpha.

Now I will start developing D.A.S.H.E.S. for dummies to design the dashboard.

Then I'll develop T.U.N.E.S. for dummies to tweak the specifications.

I wont release R5 turbo Marlboro before vanilla version. More versions of R5 turbo will be easy design when vanilla marlboro R5 is finished.

But I'm sure many drivers will like it when released.

Update on version 1.0 car body (vanilla)

Lastest functional dashboard,

Needles can be drawn orange, alike the god emperor's hairs with skidmcga.exe

this is the most complete achievement from mingva just after building the best stunts racing franchise in the world. He dominated an indy car race called black pudding, z32 in 2003. I guess few pipsqueaks can say "I won a zakstunts race in my life".

In the end of this replay I do something i only dreamt about before accomplishing it: I pass the finish line in the most unpredictable way an opponent could imagine. The quality of the replay is extra terrestrial and this gives a "demolishing" edge to the replay, because nobody else is statistically supposed to do it on this same track: One of the few top pipsqueak is supposed to produce only one replay like this every ten tracks.

It happened in 2004 competition on z39 caleidoscope and I was part of the team called mimas racing.
