It's a city planning job. I'm against most city planning, so I want to take the job of a city planner and then sit down and do nothing and leave it to the citizens to shape their own city :-)

It's what I wrote my thesis about, I know quite a lot about it and have made 'city life' projects. Also, there are three open spots, not just one (which would probably be filled by an architect), so there should be room for a Modern Culture major like me.

sounds really interesting and fully agree with the approach! Encouraging civilians to shape their own living space is the best possible option.

1º: Congrats BJ!!
2º: Why are you against city planning? It usually means a better place to live, no car traffic problems and many other things which are good
Yes, it is me. No, I'm not back at racing (for now...)

Because planned cities look boring, perhaps?  :D And indeed that sounds like a fabulous job BJ!

I can't imagine a self-organized city in Hungary. Moral is too low, number of deviant people is too high.

It's a big question! I want to answer it, but I'll need time/motivation. As I said, I'm not against ALL city planning. However, I believe that the general tendency is to conduct far too incisive and (so-called) comprehensive planning.
But we can't be quite sure.

Now is my time to either be failed or be graduated. Several years after most of you guys, I just handed in my MA thesis yesterday, after a long period of not being human or having a social life. Freedom feels weird.
Congrats! And soon all creativity will be gone when you're sitting at a desk behind a screen - oh cool thing: Why not go city planning with this old copmuter aided planner: Stunts!  ;D

Corkscrew on every street! :)

Well, we have a nice up/down cork (a double one!) only a few kilometers from our apartment:

the bridge could be easily modified into a jump to make it more interesting :)

I will also work for more loops, and make sure that they are transparent.
But we can't be quite sure.

In some areas of the city, magic carpets may be required in order to get around easily.
But we can't be quite sure.

I just had to take this one step further...  8)

And do not forget some tunnel with sharp icy turn on water behind it.  :D

Don't forget to drive your Indy to Copenhagen soon then!
But we can't be quite sure.

Looks like Stunts works great for projection of cityscapes. I'll try to introduce it in the Copenhagen local administration.
But we can't be quite sure.

It's hard to imagine this city planner job with my scientific "tunnel vision". With the maximal respect to your well-know skills and knowledge: what can / want you add to city planning, as a "non-architect"? What will be your task exactly?
