Who's going to set up a new competition?

Now that only Zakstunts (and FTT?) remains active, we really need someone to set up a fun Indy competition which is easier than Zakstunts.
But we can't be quite sure.

What about an ISA/IRC special event? (yes, I feel the temptation to manage it)

Kalpen's VINTAGE STUNTS RACING COMPETITION season 2007 shall be finished this year...  :)

I had been toying with the idea of a special event to fill in the USL slot for this season, but considering 1) the fact I need to set up everything perfectly in about a month, learning website management from scratch included 2) the clashes between my proposed rule set and the current status of pipsqueak activity (I do not mean quantitative status, but rather racing habits) I am led to conclude it won't materialize, at least within this "summer".

Duplode: if you want a very simple but effective site made by WYSIWYG webeditor, use Namo! It's quite easy to handle (few hours usage and you will know the same or even more about webeditors than I know), just find a crack file for it... ;)

I still use the damned old Namo Webeditor 5 Trial (full) version with a nice crack - surprisingly, newer trial versions contain less useful stuff. If you need it, I can send via MSN or any other ways. On the other hand if you want a PHP site, contact Zak with that problem, he can help you a lot to create a high-tech competition. :)

It does seem that there is demand for IRC/ISA contests - probably more than for any fancy special ruleset quick events I might dream of...

alanrotoi

a nice north summer-3 month competition ISA rules could be ok :)

Just to say I have not abandoned the idea of starting a short tournament entirely. IF it is going to happen (and that's a very big if), it will be from August to October and I will post again on the issue within the next ten days or so.

I had spent a few hours within the past month trying (and failing) to get the hang of some WYSIWYG editors for Linux, only to find out today that writing the HTML/CSS code by hand is vastly more simple. That increases my motivation quite a bit...

zaqrack

indeed :)
zakstunts is 100% written by hand :)
(ok, 60-70% of the site is php code)

if you need any help, shout!

lol.. even text editors arent WYSIWYG under Linux :D

and yes - writing code by hand is much simplier and more funny also. so if you need help shout!

I'm not a coder or programmer of any kind, but if you need help just shout. ;)

Chulk

I have no idea about coding but if you feel like doing so... Twist and Shout!
Yes, it is me. No, I'm not back at racing (for now...)

Thanks for the help offers, I'll make sure to yell as loud as possible if need be  :) I managed to pull off a minimalistic but consistent site design with surprisingly little effort using CSS, and began to write some content for the pages... next step is to try uploading to a real web host and test some little PHP/SSI snippets so I can generate menus and stuff in all pages using a single file. In fact, I would already have done that, but couldn't - connection problems at home again... :-X
