Today Chulk earned 2 points, while Bonzai Joe and Duplode 1 each.

Standings:

1 CTG 4
2 Akoss Poo 3
3 Duplode 2
3 Chulk 2
5 Usrin 1
5 Bonzai Joe 1

Pre-arranged win for DEN, lucky win for GER.

That really must have been expensive. And Robin van Persie is very good at hitting the post from the edge of the penalty area.
But we can't be quite sure.

CTG

Since I hate the Oranje and c.r., the last two matches made me really satisfied. ;D

Well, a surprisingly good, enjoyable and open match! Grats, Italy! Most of the people thought about an easy win for Spain or a boring draw (including me), but the game showed something different. Best match of the tournament so far!

3 well deserved points for Chulk, 2 for CTG (but I think he thought about a different kinda match), 0 for others (including me).

They didn't throw that one for Denmark, they just want to be able to sell the movie rights, which means they can't start winning untill they absolutely have to.

Argentina 4 - Brazil 3.... no more to say :)

Meeeeeeeeeeessi, Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessi!!! ;D (lesson one: how to make cr mad?)

Lessons so far:

Russia looking very strong and definitely a contender for the title. Rest of group A is a toss-up.
Denmark is in very good shape and has a chance of getting in the quarter finals
Netherlands will really have to fight for it
Ireland is dead
Spain is not as strong as in 2010
Italy is also an outsider for the title
But we can't be quite sure.

CTG

Russia could beat the weakling Czechs, not a big deal (although I like the russian team). Their group is way too easy, so the first serious match will be the quarter-final for them.

Denmark is a good team without great stars, while the Dutch eleven is too high and mighty - result is not so surprising. But I guess DEN won't be in the best 8. Portugal with cr is a joke, just as expected.

Italy is stronger than in 2010, Spain should show up something new to beat Croatia (and no Torres, please, he's slow and selfish). Ireland did not deserve to qualify.

Chulk

If only Villa was playing for Spain, I would have got the outcome of that match! Actually, if any forward other than Torres had played for Spain I would have got it correct. I never knew what people saw in this guy...
Yes, it is me. No, I'm not back at racing (for now...)

Chulk

I took the liberty to update the standings. If it bothers you, Akoss, I won't do it anymore.

Standings:

2 Chulk 5
3 Akoss Poo 3
4 Duplode 2

I wonder about Duplode's opinion.

Even Raul would be a better choice, he has the sense to score.

BonzaiJoe

I think Torres has played his last minutes in this tournament. Of course the problem is that the alternatives aren't that strong either, but still they must be better.
I can't believe how much patience Torres has been given. Because he was so good in 2008-2009, both Chelsea and Spain keep using him, hoping that suddenly he will be good again, but for years it hasn't happened...
But we can't be quite sure.

Of course you can help me counting. But next time, pay more attention, Duplode has 3 points instead of 2.

3 Akoss Poo 3

Some remarks:

- the team which starts too good, often falls through the end... that's why I thought Germany would start with a draw against Portugal for example
- Russia looks good, but it looks the usual story... I think they will fall before the medal rounds
- I haven't seen anything special from Europe's top forwards... will a relatively no name player top the scoring list in the end maybe?
- Ireland simply too weak for this tournament... they got this ECH participation as a present after the France match two years ago (easy qualification group, lucky qualification, Estonia as playoff opponents, Kassai as referee, two Estonian red cards, undeserved Irish penalty etc.)... but oh, my God, why... even Croatia took an easy win against them
- BJ: I think at the current situation in Italian football, they haven't come for the title... this is by far the weakest Italian team I've ever seen, let alone the scandal in the country... decent performance from them, and I think a quarter final berth would be sufficient for them at the moment
- I think Spain will qualify for sure, Ireland won't, CRO-ITA for the group second place... Spain is still very strong, and the tournament is long, they can capitalize on getting into their stride later
- I can still see Germany or Spain winning the tournament
- I can still see a strong Dutch team... but they need to strive very hard now to qualify

Looking forward to the big clash between France and England tonight.

My tips are the following:

France - England 1-2
Ukraine - Sweden 1-0.
