I think we should modify the rules to avoid such DNFs. What about 1 minute tolerance limit, with +0.5 seconds penalty time after every late seconds? That would mean +11.0 for me (so it's not worth to extend the gameplay).

22:30:55 - saved the replay
22:31:01 - posted "done" at the chatroom
22:31:10 - first try to post the replay, message came back with the warning: somebody else posted while I was writing a message
22:31:15 - second try to post the replay, empty message warning (fuckya')
22:31:22 - third try

Btw it's interesting to see the different strategy and stamina. I spent too much time with RH at the beginning, running out of ballast time quite fast (losing control & bad nerves, my last lap tells everything about how "stable" I am mentally). BJ managed the time quota a lot better (using only 11:06!), showing up slightly improving lap results.

We should hold another one soon (for one, I want a high score to show...  ::))

When? Next weekend? Or earlier?

Next weekend would be awesome (earlier than that I won't be home before 23:00 GMT).

Chulk

During the week it is too complicated for me too... next weekend would be great
Yes, it is me. No, I'm not back at racing (for now...)

zaqrack

I would like to join once too, options:

A. SA morning, EU lunchtime, China evening
B. between dec8-jan10 when I will be in Budapest.

Just go on with the next race this weekend, don't mess up the schedule for me.

Option A looks simple to arrange if you think of it as "just before (or just after) the F1 qualifying/race"  :)

Not a bad idea. I would make it harsher, though (e.g. reset the penalty time and subtract a whole lap every 20s).

We might disable the "somebody else posted" warnings in our accounts (Profile >> Modify Profile >> Look and Layout). Another possible workaround could be attaching the replay to an existing post by editing it, though it would be messy. (One problem might be the grace period - those five minutes or so after posting in which you can edit the post without the "Last Edit" timestamp being appended. Any sneakiness seems impossible if the original post is made before the start of the race.)

Next F1 race is in 10 days (India) and after the race it would be 10am here. I can be up at 10 or 11 in the morning on weekends (probably performing poorly, but I can wake up at that time). I have no problem racing after midnight (let's say 4am here) on a weekend but maybe that would be too early in Europe.

BonzaiJoe

As long as we arrange it a bit in advance, I'm okay with most hours of the weekend. If we're racing in the European morning, I won't join if I've been out late the day before. Otherwise morning is also fine. Getting up early might even be quite interesting.
But we can't be quite sure.

Not for me. (If the dickhole neighbourhood "allows" it then) I usually wake up around 11-12 o'clock on Sundays.

Chulk

Ok, so the best would be around 10/11 SA, 14/15 EU, 21/22 CH, right?

Never slept longer than 7:30am in the past 2 years.

Reason 1: even during winter its already bright before 7am
Reason 2: at least one of my sons usually wakes us around 6:30am

On the other hand, even on weekdays I just simply wake around 7:00 :)
:)

Chulk

On weekends, I usually wake up at 13 to have lunch (unless I have some appointment or sports event to watch) but I can make an effort and be ready to race at 10/11

So if I understood corectly. We are racing 12 (??) minutes from a release of a track. Then, we send replay. Laps driven until 8:00 are counted (we are driving through pit line, not the finish line). Next race is at Saturday. (?) Pick something slower than Jaguar for this week, pls. ;)

- Tre track is published earlier (one day), you can practice on it. Somebody - BJ or Zak -  will modify a few tiles right before the start to avoid cheating.
- You have 12 minutes to complete a 8 minute long replay (minimal RH, mainly to save partial replays and correct "fatal" accidents or extreme speed loss by leaving the road).
- As for me, fast cars with easy handling should be preferred for such a race (IMSA, Melange, Speedgate, Indy). Or you need a really fast track to use Lancia or Audi. But I'm okay with (almost) all the cars.

Strange, but true: this option seemed to be unavailable for me, because Internet Explorer could never load that page (how can this happen in 2012 ??? :o). I tried it at the office (IE, same version, but Windows 7) and it worked without a problem. Since that I checked it again at home with Firefox and Google Chrome - both worked. To cut the long story short: no more warnings (finally).

Sounds like a bit too strict solution. What about a golden mean: 1 second penalty (instead of 0.5) after every late seconds?
