It is discussed since many years : do Australian and/or Japan F1 GP late in local time, that means during night, in order to benefit of the high TV audience in Europe.

I know I'm in advance, but I think Nick Heidfeld's comments regarding 2009 rules are important.

Here is a resume : in 2009, max allowed downforce will be divided by 2, and tyre heaters won't be allowed. Slick tyres may be back too, but not with ultra-soft gums like they were when they were used in F1. As traction control will also be forbidden since 2008, the F1 will be very hard to control and very dangerous, because horsepower will remain very strong but with a lot less grip overall.

It seems to me that it's a come-back to the deadly years of F1, when too many good pipsqueaks died while racing...
I can understand the traction control suppression, because it will show the real talents of the drivers, but why suppress the tyre heaters and limit the down force ? With too cold tyres, F1 racing will seems like ice racing ! This is F1, not Andros Trophy !!!

Tuesday and wednesday this week, Loeb and Kovalainen exchanged their cars.
Loeb tested a Renault F1 R26 in Paul Ricard track, Kovalainen then tested the Citroen C4 WRC on a 3km long special offroad track created for this occasion.

Results ?

Loeb's best lap was only 1 second slower than Kovalainen's best lap. Quite good after only a few laps by Leob (18 overall). But Loeb admitted that physically his neck could not afford a full race of F1 for the moment, he is not prepared to afford so much G impact on his neck for a long period.

On the other hand, Kovalainen destroyed one front wheel of the C4 WRC on a big stone ! Not the tyre, the entire wheel was destroyed !!! It seems that Loeb knows better his limits than Kovalainen does.

As you know (or maybe not), numerous Linux release are based upon Debian "core" : Unbutu, Kunbutu, Mandriva, ...

Who will replace R. Schumacher in toyota team (my hope : F. Montagny, test driver at Toyota team in 2007, but I fear it won't be that way because he has no big sponsor behind him) ?

Blimey! team, creators of GTR, GTR 2 and GT Legends games, will offer next tuesday (11th of september then) a FREE game named BMW M3 Challenge to celebrate the new BMW M3 real car available at your local BMW sailor.
This game will look more like a demo than a real game IMO because you'll be able to race only BMW M3 cars and only at 1 track : Nurburgring.
Anyway, this game will have a feature that is often absent in demos : online play.

RESULTS UPDATED - sorry for the delay.
Congratulations for CTG - he won in a hard and close battle and also got the +2 LTB
The last track of the season will be out soon. We'll see who will be the 2007 champion of ZakStunts!
And after that? We'll see. I realized I got too distant from ZakStunts. I'm trying to find a way to enjoy being a competition manager again. Or maybe I just need a little break and be a simple pipsqueak for a while. There are superb competitions out there anyway. Don't know yet.

Come on Zak, with the new systeml planned, you won't even have to create tracks if you don't want to, pipsqueaks will do it. So you'll be able to be "just a pipsqueak" if you want to. Don't let ZS die.

It seems it will be 3D game, isn't it ?
I hope that graphics will be like the "real" Speedball 2 and not like Speedball 2100 (PlayStation version of Speedball 2).

[a Stunts track in GPL]

I think this topic should be made sticky.

I decided a few days ago to play a few GPL game again.
I searched for new tracks designed by GPL fans and found this : http://gplmz.bcsims.com/index.php?showtopic=505 a Stunts track in GPL !!!!

AS some of you know, I work in the food industry. My company is a fruit preparator for yogurts, ice creams or pastry.
As Danone is now implemented in Hungary, the Activia range of products starts to be available there :
     

What we do at my job are the apricot, the strawberry, the cranberry-raspberry, the fig, the grapefruit and the prune for Activia range.

We also produce another strawberry for Vitalinea range :


And a toffee for Danette range (at the bottom of vanilla cream, this picture is the simple vanilla cream product as I didn't found the picture of the real product) :


All these are shipped from France to the Budapest plant of Danone Kft.

Track is almost finished, but as is it ill be impossible to do an "IRC rules" lap for those who prefer to do it this way because of the crazy graphic bugs I made on this one (you asked for it ).
Should I create a 2nd way with IRC rules possibility ?

I'm working on the website at this moment. I think there will be some beta-tests to do with the automatisation features I plan to do (it will be a php website).
Who would like to do beta-tests ? (probably during summer holidays, I'm not ready yet to do them)

I can test the website with IE 5 & 6 and FireFox 1, 1.5 and 2.
I'd like to have potential beta-testers with other web browsers like Opera, Safari, ...

Originally, it was only a French one but now it's also available in English.

The goal is to "open" each level. At this date there are 93 levels. I reached level 34 (in French) in one month and stopped a few months ago but I'm starting it again in order to continue and reach the last levels.

Each level is the English version of the French one.
You'll have to think, think, and think again as long as the level become higher.
Sometimes you'll find a level easy, sometimes you'll spend 2 hours or more before finding the solution.

If you can't go further than step 5 alone, this game is not for you, your mind is not crazy enough.

One last thing : never forget that Google is your friend, it will help you a lot during this game.
