I think for European interests mostly they prefered Kamala than Trump. Same for NATO.

I don't believe in miracles and Saulus / Paulus turns.

Péter Magyar is a narcissistic "golden boy", coming from Fidesz. He chose the right moment to betray his own policital community - even if Fidesz is a rotten and extremely corrupt party. 

Personally, I do not expect a lot from him.

But at least Orbán and his regime lost.

Orbán was the prime minister for 20 (!) years: 1998-2002 and 2010-2026.

We'll know the truth in the following month but how is Peter Magyar's policy about Russia/China/China/Europe? I bet he has a pro-europe speech in the campaign but lets see if in practice he's not another pro-USA leader.

When I think of politicians that can get to power, I try to not be too hopeful, but I stick to the most important thing: I hope they happen to at least be somebody who will concentrate their efforts on really trying to make their country (or state, city, province, etc.) work well, improve and the citizens there feel a tiny bit happier and not just on amassing power and money and then one day leave (or die) not having really accomplished anything good worth remembering. At least that.

I think a good politician is one that you kind of forget that is there. If you can't help noticing the guy or gal is there doing their thing, then they're not that good... but well that last part is idealistic.
