Well, for some reason I can't acess WSC sites from home by the normal way for almost two months. Instead, I have to resort to cgi-proxies... for instance, try this: http://www.proxygalaxy.com/nph-proxy.cgi/000100A/http/fsa.ar.nu

...or I'm a complete DOS noob. Yesterday I created a 200MB FAT32 partition on my secondary HD and tried to load DOS/Stunts from all sorts of boot floppies and CDs I could arrange without having to tinker a lot with configs (including Zak's ISO). Nothing worked - at most I reached Main Menu and was deterred due to lack of extended memory... And, to kill my will to try it further, I had a huge scare: After launching from a FreeDOS one-floppy package and reaching the car selection screen, my video went crazy with gibberish and the PC failed to restart afferwards! I had to unplug the video card, boot the machine running on onboard video and plug the GeForce again...

Although I am not in a position to come up with such a list due to lack of experience, CTG's rank probably fits better to a "best ever" list - for instance, it's sure absolutely sure I'm not up to it as of now... BJ criteria is valid too, even if seemingly somewhat harder to apply (requiring more "what-if"s).

If I got it correctly, Simon's suggestion is to have a NoRH and/or IRC scoreboard for Permanent Comp. tracks. Such a scoreboard, that would most likely be implemented as solely trust-based (right? ), could be useful for posting times under such rulesets without having to share the board with 3x:yy times, particularly for newcomers who after joining would like to see times on Default and other tracks as a reference. For that matter I think I'd make use of it too should it exist...

Don't you see a little difference in response time when press a command? I'm talking about millisecod but it is something I can feel. When you play on a real system you see it's better.

Actually I want to check that out - so much time has passed since I last played under pure DOS that I can't remember how it was anymore  . I'm up to reformat into FAT32 a spare partition lying in one of my HDs, make it bootable and move the Stunts stuff there, but currently I feel a bit lazy...

can your computer boot from an USB flash drive? I plan to prepare a Stunts USB boot drive image.

If there is a way to use it without formatting my pendrive I might consider that oprion too!

I don't know why but it seems something different from a real system with dosbox. It loose some frame in the complex situation.. even with high cpu cycle.

Then you might wish to reduce a bit the cycles (too high can cause slow down as well), or maybe turn on dynamic CPU on.

Will USR for teams start next January, while ISM will be in its topical moment? If it's so, sorry but I don't think I'll participate, I won't have enough time...

That's very true, CTG - as you are concerned about pipsqueaks lacking time for weekly races, you'd better postpone it a bit...

Very, very nice Zak . All the cheated cars on my replay folders are being detected correctly, except for the LWT-ZR1 GTC Mark I. The only thing you might want to check later is making different colour tables for each car shape. I attached a relation of those that was lying in my HD.

I can also implement a track viewer!

Anyway, this makes me wonder: Comeptiton Archive + Track Viewer + Scoreboard Data = ZakStunts' Track Explorer!!

the only other point is that one week might be too short for some potential pipsqueaks lacking time to race for any reason. I'd suggest making public the car choices done at the first week and then limiting any late pipsqueaks' entries to those cars. It would make the race more "open cards" as well.

Actually, thinking back this could cause problems as well... what if only two or three people send their choices on first week? It could become quite uniteresting then. A "10"-day deadline (three days after frst week or something like it) to join might still be necessary...

It seems unlikely CTG would rather needlessy dock points from Dottore, even more so as he hated the track. Maybe BJ could have done it?...

You're welcome... and BTW, nice add-on, I hate digging deep into my folders only to open RPLINFO. It would be very nice if you could integrate this to the replay submission form...
