What's the problem with my "Save a tree, eat a beaver !" signature ? :P ;D

BonzaiJoe

There isn't a problem - it reminds me of Alain who liked beavers. I like trees too. But there are far more trees in the world than there are beavers. Maybe saving beavers is more important...
But we can't be quite sure.

Krys TOFF

OK then, I changed my signature to an ad for BATRacer. ;)

Some great results for Brazilian women at the final days: Maurren Maggi won long jump and became the first woman to get a gold medal for Brazil in individual sports. The female volleyball squad crowned a great tournament and killed their ghosts by beating USA 3-1 at the final match. Their male counterparts also faced the United States but were beaten 3-1 on a nearly flawless performance by the North Americans - it seems our all-conquering squad of the recent years has definitely entered a generation shift period. Overall, we finished at 23rd positin on medal table (3g/4s/8b), matching our best performance in total number of medals (Atlanta '96, 3/3/9) but highlighting that, all things considered, we had not much real progress from four years ago to now...

3-5-2 at the end (21st on medal table, we are behind Romania :-\ but ahead of Slovakia :D), shame on the Hungarian olympic team and especially our sport leaders.

Gold:

Attila Vajda, canoe (C-1), 1000 m
Katalin Kovács - Natasa Janics, kayak (K-2), 500 m
male water polo team YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!! Third time in a row! Where are the fuckin' Serbians? Where are they? NOWHERE!!! ;D And we fucked yankee asses in the final: Hungary - United States 14-10 (6-4, 3-4, 2-1, 3-1)

Silver:

László Cseh 3x, swimming, 400 m individual medley, 200 m individual medley, 200 m butterfly (all behind Phelps, the motherfucker cheater autist butthole)
Zoltán Fodor, Greco-Roman wrestling (84 kg) - surprise, but still skid off Minguzzi
Katalin Kovács, Natasa Janics, Gabriella Szabó, Danuta Kozák, kayak (K-4), 1000 m

Bronze:

Ildikó Mincza-Nébald, female epee
György Kozmann - Tamás Kiss, canoe (C-2), 1000 m

Expected medals - which did not come true:

Female water polo team (even a gold could be possible for them - finished 4th)
Female handball team (most of people expected a medal from them - I didn't - but they played quite bad and in spite of this fact they reached a lucky 4th place with one really good match versus Romania (Transsylvania belongs to Hungary!!! ;D))
Katalin Kovács (K-1, 500 m - she's far the best in female kayak but had a very bad day...)
Krisztián Pars (hammer throwing, his season record would be enough for a silver but finished only 4th)
Emese Kovács (swimmer, she said she must be able to beat the world record but couldn't even qualify to the second round...)
Dániel Gyurta (swimmer, silver medalist of Athens, broke the European record in the first round, but finished only 5th with his second best time ever in the final - he admitted he can't do his best in the morning... skid of American lobby for morning finals, maybe their dopes have higher effect in that part of the day...)
Diána Igaly (skeet, she won in Athens - out of TOP10 now)
Zsolt Nemcsik (sabre, silver medalist of Athens, winning some world events in the last few years - couldn't even qualify to 16)
Dániel Hadfi and Miklós Ungvári (judo, both very talented with good rankings at world and European championships - both of them falled because of cheater refrees...)
and some other competitors in kayak-canoe, fencing, wrestling, boxing...

Well, the main results are told there, so I won't write them down again, just some comments.

Kayak: K1 500 metres women, I think Natasa Janics should have competed instead of Katalin Kovács. Janics is better in her head, a competitive girl, who always does her best on the day of the competition. We missed a gold medal there.

In judo, wrestling, boxing and fencing, we had very good chances. 1 gold in judo, 2 in fencing (plus the other medals) would have been realistic. I'm saying this after knowing their WCH and ECH results. In these sports the match is too much in the referee's hands. They help well-lobbied nations, like France and Italy in fencing, Russia in wrestling etc. It is the most apparent in the olympics, that's why we sucked there. That spoiled very much the performance of the Hungarian olympic team.

In handball, the refs were cheating against Hungary and for Korea in the bronze medal battle. It was very disgusting that during the whole olympic games, Koreans, Chinese and other Asians were helped to a big extent by the referees. That's why I'm saying the olympics are not sports now, Hungary should wake up from the dreams. It's the demonstration of the power of countries, referees, doctors and politics and lobbying is the key, sportsmen and sportswomen are just puppets.

We finished 21st on the medal table, it's a pity that Romania was ahead of us. But it is nice to beat Slovakia. From typical Stunts nations, France and Germany finished well above us, while we beat Brazil and Denmark on the medal table.

On the other hand it's worth to mention: Hungary became wet sport specialist.

In/on the water: 3-4-1 (swimming, kayak-canoe, water polo)
Other sports: 0-1-1 (wrestling, epee)

CTG

Nikolai Valuev vs John Ruiz heavyweight eliminator fight... well, that was a disappointing match. The "Beast from the East" can't really use his size to knock out his opponents and also has terrible technique, while Ruiz is just boring and weak. Result: split decision victory for the Russian (116:113, 116:111, 113:114).

TDF organizers already warned him about the new stricter doping control rules.  ;D If I'm not mistaken, they still don't consider Armstrong a real champion, rather a doping machine. But they couldn't make him fail a doping test (damn).

I'm quite surprised that he will be back, but I'm sure he will win the tour then (or finally decide not to participate)
But we can't be quite sure.

I saw Vuelta a Espana on Eurosport today. On this stage, the riders had to face the famous-unfamous Angliru hill, which is the steepest hill on the three major grand tours (Tour, Giro, Vuelta). On some sections, it is 23,6% steep... Fortunately, there were no rain like in 2002 on this hill, but fog occured there. By the way, Contador won the stage. By the way, Armstrong is a big dick.
