Quote from: Daniel3D on September 22, 2024, 11:00:15 PMWhat about the performance of the cars with the tools and insights we have now (including a way to alter the power gear characteristics)..?

Love the new models and dashboards by the way.

Quote from: alanrotoi on September 22, 2024, 11:19:42 PMI voted option 2 :D @Daniel3D as far as I know these cars hasn't PG.

Yes, the currently available version of the pack has no PG/antiPG featured in any car (as long as I remember).

The option #2 is intend to get a mix of DSI originality and add some color options like, a full black, white or some dual tone paint jobs.
With this poll I think it is also possible to get top 2 choices. Taking Cas preferences as an example, it could be like "Original colors + real paint jobs" ;)

Here is another "small" improvement/bug fix release that avoids the change of wheel coordinates even if user choose to cancel in "Edit CAR1 value" dialog.

Thank you @Duplode.

New CarEdit3 version 3.4.2 attached.

Hello,

As one of my first modifications in stunts, back in 2002, I created a car pack containing mainly all the vanilla cars tuned in match real performance figures and some dashboard speedo and rev needle corrections, this was as much as possible as the tools available at the time.

Several week ago, with all the tools and resources available nowadays I took on the evolution of this car pack and go on full modification of all 11 original "vanilla" cars (this excludes the "pseudo" Audi Quattro TDI and Porsche 911 Turbo 964 3.3 since it got a full mod back in 2011), detailing and correcting various aspects of the car generically such as size, weight, wheel positions, descriptions and shape proportions, but also its specific key shape elements that also extends to the dashboard according to the actual car model year.

As a first sight of this evolution here are some pictures with comparison of new vs standard car's 3d shape (CAR0 ans CAR1) and dashboard.

Hi,

After suffering from lack of precision while trying to edit wheel coordinates with CAR1 related values, there is a minor improved version of CarEdit3.

In Misc screen, the wheel coordinates can now be edited with absolute values (maintaining negative conversion) with Enter key, or alternatively with CAR1 related values (as on version 3.4) using Insert key.
The release of this new version 3.4.1. can be found below.

Custom Cars with Stressed / Re: Fiat Uno (Ladder Edition)

Congratulations @Erik Barros for bringing this little Fiat!

The idea of the ladder is quite original.  It's asking for a wiki article wiki article to tell all about :D

You're welcome. Also thanks for keeping that myth alive even in Stunts ;)

Hello,

After some spare time in last couple of weeks, I took the liberty to make some improvements on CarEdit3 and release a new version 3.4.

Here are the changes:

- New CONFIGURATION screen for changing program settings:
Video driver (same 640x480 resolution in "SVGA 256 color" or previous "VGA 16 color").
Car directory path (game's car files relative to Caredit3 execution path).
    Spare cars path (spare car root path relative to Caredit3);

- GARAGE screen improvements:
Car list navigation, identification of game's 32 cars limit and validations on management operations.
Spare car list with folders and subfolders navigation (<42 per level), subfolder creation only on spare car root path and spare cars listing up to 512 entries (FAT16 file per folder limit) with paging support showing subfolders always on top.

- GEARS screen reorganization and added real data approximation in order to help adjusting gear ratio values.

- MISC screen with added information and editable car data for:
Real data approximation on car dimensions.
    Validation on wheel coordinates values.
Edit of custom mod parameters for color needle values (SVGA 256 color video mode is required to see all game's 256 color palette), to use pared with "Stunts 1.1 Mod 1.0" (Download "SKIDMCGA.EXE" file from forum post here)

Custom Cars with Stressed / Re: Mazda 787B

Quote from: alanrotoi on June 21, 2024, 11:02:07 PMAnother masterpiece of design and adaptation to Stunts. The most remarcable detail of the car is the unique and clever use of the needle in my opinion.

Did you use the real performance data?

I used the base specifications of the le mans race car: http://www.mulsannescorner.com/SAE920309.pdf
And aproximate the best I could by analysing car's accelaration on old video footages (as I stated on stunts wiki https://wiki.stunts.hu/wiki/Mazda_787B). So it was the best approximation of "real performance" I've found...

The fender addition actually really helps the 3D feel inside the cockpit.
Really enjoying getting used to this car, and very much looking forward to racing it in R4K!

You are welcome!
I originally intended to get a visible fender, but I backed off on the first release because of it always being orange. But I honestly missed that, so now the cockpit has a more immersive feel :)

Hello,

I'm here to announce that there is new You cannot view this attachment. of the car.

This version has some corrections on car's wheel coordinate values because it was causing movement of the car when it is supposed to be stand still.

The paint job of the 18# car have the correct yellow band on top of the windscreen.

Also the dashboard now has a visible wing/fender, a correction on the number 9 speed digit and a grey rev bar needle (when using Stunts Needle colour mod) to match lcd panel background color.

Hi, thank you for all your feedback on testing this car!
I'm pleased to know that it is performing without major issues and specially having some enjoyment :)

I've define it's base grip to be slightly better than other IMSA original cars, since it is a lighter car. This car is also a faster IMSA car, but I think that is only because the original IMSA cars in game are slower comparing to real ones:
Jaguar XJR-9 has around 750hp
Porsche 962 has around 680hp

When creating the dashboard I was a little concerned about replicating the bar tachometer because of the game's limitations, but in the end it kind of performs well, specially showing revs in power band (6-9k rpm), the progress movement of the bar meter.

As my previous custom car releases, be free to use them in any competition ;)

Mazda 787B Stunts Wiki car page article is now available.

Custom Cars with Stressed / Mazda 787B

Hello you all,

A few years ago I thought I should bring a unique type of car, with a rotary engine, the 1991 Le Mans winning car, the Mazda 787B!

You can now get it ready to race STUNTS, just a week before the upcoming 2024 real event!

You cannot view this attachment.

If anyone find some issue with car behavior, please let me know here.
In the meantime, I'll detail the car on a proper Stunts Wiki page.
